Digital Art Series: Twilight Skyscape

This piece is a study of a dark skyscape that was produced through a tutorial. It was an interesting exercise in the practice of applying layers, various colors in the palette, and improvisation. Landscapes and skyscapes have always been interesting to this aspiring artist; there is almost an infinite number of ways of presenting a scenery.

Below is a variation of the image above using a feature that is available in digital painting software that cannot possibly be done in traditional painting.
