My good friend from way when died recently, not really sure of the cause but he was sick for the longest while and doctors couldn't figure out what was wrong with him. He was to under go surgery, for what I am not sure but he didn't make it.

Marc was a good friend, the type to tell you what you needed to hear, not what you wanted to hear. I think that’s the true definition of a friend right there. We hungout a lot during our teenage years and early 20s. From playing basketball 🏀, video games and swimming in the pool during the endless summer days to the hypest parties at night. We lived young wild and free. Marc was always the lady's man as you can see in the pic above. That day we had a party on our other childhood friend’s family yacht . The three of us were pretty tight and even started a little venture together.

On Friday night when Richard (1/3 of the crew) called and told me the news it was difficult to process. Though I knew he was sick, I didn’t expect him to pass away so suddenly, but that is death.

As I got the news I lit a candle I had and said a prayer for my dear friend. I prayed he had a safe journey wherever the after life may take him. That’s the thing about death as well, we know not what comes after this life ends, judgment, heaven, hell, nothingness or are we just reborn into the energy grid of the universe?

Messaging his sister to say my condolences 💐 as I had no other words to say (and who really does in the time death? ),she replied and commended me for choosing to live in Japan to which I replied, “ yeah but it’s so far away, just have to make the best of where we are at though.”. She said something to me that I think everyone living far from their birthplace feels at some point:

I know what you mean.. If I didn't choose to live this far from home I would have had time with Daddy before he died and now the same applies to Marc. Look at how much I've missed and now I can never make it up 😞😞😩
I love ______ but my God it's far.. Japan too.. we have to just, as you said, make the best of our choices 🙏🏽
I'll reach out to your brother 💕

My younger brother and Marc had gotten close recently as Richard and I were in different countries. They played online games and were building out the Jamaican online gaming community. For my younger bro I know this must be even more surreal as they were in daily contact 😔.

Life is short and even when someone close to you dies it’s like we still don’t even realize it. We think we always have tomorrow when all we have is today. I thought of an appropriate song to end this post but I think Marc wouldn’t appreciate it. He would probably say:

“My youth, you really coming with that dead music shit 🎶 because mi dead! Run some new tune bredrin, wah you a do!

Alight mark let me at least try to make this tribute post be decent. So here is Diddy with the remake of every step you take. ( I can see Marc looking from the side of his 👀 from the other side.

Alright Marc, here is new tune by Charly Blacks and Sean Paul called Gyalis General, better?

”🤨 It alright”.

My condolences! 🙏 May he rest in peace!

I get what you mean with "Life is short and even when someone close to you dies it’s like we still don’t even realize it.", as I didn't fully comprehend it and didn't want to believe it when I heard the news of my cousin leaving this earth in December.

I actually like this version of Diddy and Faith Evans, because I grew up listening to this song and whenever I'm in the mood for reminiscing I play that song. Even though they recorded this song for B.I.G., it's a fitting song remembering those "fallen" loved ones.

He was a cop dealing with depression, who didn't speak much and after a fight with a loved one... I think you get the idea.

Surreal indeed.

Man that is rough. Sometimes we think to ourselves that we’d never do that. But we know not what a person goes through. Sorry to hear that.

Yeah, I keep saying that it's often undetected as most dealing with depression are good or rather have trained themselves to not show it to the world.

You're welcome, I had a friend like that while I was in high school, it was really sad and I felt he could come back then to join us but he couldn't, he left us without saying anything. We lost him to accident but I just hope he is in a better place now. Just be calm okay. God will see you through this period.

Condolences to you and Marc’s family. It’s never easy losing a loved one. Great that you were able to catch up a bit with his sis. Life is short. We have to make the best of it.
