This time, I want to join the veggie shopping challenge to participate in the new week 23 of my veggie shopping challenge, it's all about only buying ALCAPARRAS. Going through the communities where I am most active, I saw the post that the @plantpowervegan community had posted their first challenge of the year and of course I was encouraged to participate and have these capers in my fridge to spice up my dishes.

Today I got up early and took advantage of my paycheck. I went to several supermarkets looking for the food for the week and also for capers, but I couldn't find them. Then, I went to the center of La Victoria and arrived at a condiment and pastry store called 'Pleno Centro' where they did have them in stock.

En esta ocasión, quiero unirme al reto de compra de verduras para participar en el nuevo reto de la semana 23 de mi compra vegetal, se trata de solo comprar ALCAPARRAS. Pasando por las comunidades en las que estoy más activa, pude ver la publicación de que la comunidad @plantpowervegan había posteado su primer reto del año y claro que me animé para participar y poder tener estas alcaparras en mi nevera para darle sabor a mis platos.

Hoy me levanté temprano y aproveché que me pagaron mi quincena. Fui a varios automercados buscando la comida de la semana y también las alcaparras, pero no las encontré. Luego, me dirigí al centro de la Victoria y llegué a una tienda de condimentos y repostería llamada 'Pleno Centro' donde sí tenían almacenado.

My tips for the purchase and preservation of CAPERS.

• Buy:

When I buy capers, I pay attention to their appearance and texture. I check that they have a dark green or greenish brown color, avoiding those that look discolored or soft. I always look for them to be small and firm. I also make sure their aroma is fresh, trying to avoid those with a musty smell.

If I buy an airtight container, I check the directions and expiration date on the back.

• Preservation:

To ensure the freshness and flavor of the capers, when I get home, I put them in a container and wash very well with plenty of water, then I sterilize a glass jar with a lid that has recycling, there I put vinegar and I put it so that it covers the capers very well, this preserves them and also gives them a distinctive flavor, then I seal them hermetically and take them to the refrigerator.

• Compra:

Cuando compro alcaparras, presto atención a su aspecto y textura. Verifico que tengan un color verde oscuro o marrón verdoso, evitando las que lucen descoloridas o blandas. Siempre busco que sean pequeñas y firmes. También me aseguro de que su aroma sea fresco, tratando de evitar aquellas que presenten un olor rancio.

Si compro un envase hermético, verifico al dorso las indicaciones y la fecha de vencimiento.

• Conservación:

Para asegurar la frescura y sabor de las alcaparras, cuando llegó a casa, las echo en un envase y lavo muy bien con abundante agua, ya que siempre vienen almacenada en salmuera, seguidamente esterilizo algún frasco de vidrio con tapa que tenga reciclado, allí coloco vinagre y las pongo que cubra muy bien las alcaparras esto la conserva y también da un sabor distintivo luego sello herméticamente y llevo a la nevera.
