French Bank of the River Plate [ENG/ESP]

Greetings to all Hive friends and architecture lovers! Today I want to share with you what is called the headquarters of the french bank of the Rio de la Plata. This time we leave aside the theme of churches and cathedrals and focus on something different but also interesting and historical.
In the autonomous city of Buenos Aires, more specifically in the neighborhood of San Nicolás, there are many historical and architectural heritages, such as churches, business buildings, government houses and banks!
This building is located in this area of the city is one of the popular corners bordering the government house, the street that houses it is Reconquista Street, starting its construction in 1925 by the hand of the architect Jorge Bunge and through the construction company Piquet and Arano.
Saludos a todos amigos de Hive y amantes de la arquitectura! Hoy quiero compartir con ustedes lo que se denomina la casa matriz del banco francés del río de la plata. Ésta vez dejamos a un lado el tema de las iglesias y catedrales y nos centramos en algo diferente pero también interesante e histórico.
En la ciudad autónoma de Buenos Aires más específicamente en el barrio de San Nicolás se encuentran diversas cantidades de patrimonios históricos y arquitectónicos, tales como iglesias, edificios empresariales, casas de gobierno y bancos!
Esta edificación se encuentra en esta zona de la ciudad es una de las populares esquinas limitantes con la casa de gobierno, la calle que la alberga es la calle Reconquista, iniciando su construcción en el año 1925 de la mano del arquitecto Jorge Bunge y por medio de la constructora Piquet y Arano.
Although Argentina and especially Buenos Aires was a country of Italian immigrants in the 50's, most of its architecture is strongly influenced by the French style and they were the ones who had the initiative to excel in this aspect. This is my point of view!
Therefore, I must mention that the bank has a French-French academicism style where obviously for its construction classic elements of that style were incorporated, covering an area of approximately 1100 square meters and using materials such as Greek marble for its coatings, as well as Greek cipollino material were used for the columns. The bank is comprised of four floors and two basements, one of which contains the vaults and treasures of the bank.
A pesar de que Argentina y en especial Buenos Aires fue un país de inmigrantes italianos para la década de los años 50' la mayor parte de su arquitectura está fuertemente influenciada por el estilo francés y fueron ellos los que tuvieron la iniciativa de sobresalir en este aspecto. Esto es mi punto de vista!
Por lo cuál, debo mencionar que el banco posee un estilo de academicismo francésfrancés dónde obviamente para su construcción se incorporaron elementos clásicos de dicho estilo, cubriendo una superficie de 1100 metros cuadrados aproximadamente y usando materiales como mármol griego destinado a sus revestimientos, así como se usaron material de cipollino griego para las columnas. El banco está comprendido por cuatro pisos y dos sótanos, en el que en uno de ellos se encuentran las bóvedas y los tesoros del banco.
I believe that within the architectural style in Argentina and the international influences that the country had, many works containing domes were created, regardless of whether they are churches, cathedrals or parishes. The old buildings of the city usually have domes and this case is no exception.
The dome of the French bank of the Rio de la Plata is located in the Hall and has a diameter of 13 meters and a height of 11 meters, which is connected by means of Doric style columns.
Creo que dentro de todo el estilo arquitectónico en Argentina y las influencias internacionales que tuvo el país se crearon muchas obras que contienen cúpulas, sin importar si se trata de iglesias, catedrales o parroquias. Los edificios antiguos de la ciudad suelen llevar cúpulas y éste caso no es la excepción.
La cúpula del banco francés del río de la plata se encuentra ubicada en el Hall y posee un diámetro de 13 metros y una altura de 11 metros, que se conecta por medios de columnas de estilo dórico.
I have found details of sculptures in this type of buildings that are embedded with forms of people and this also happens with churches and buildings like this that are used to house banks or other institutions, here in this image I can show these figures with a clock and I think it has a connection with classical and Greek styles. This is just my opinion, I am constantly learning 😅.
Now, it is also important to mention that this building is a national historical heritage and that the new headquarters of the French bank is located in a very modern building, with stained glass windows and a futuristic appearance. I will visit this building and I hope to have access to its interior, at least to the Hall, since the security of this bank is very strong.
He encontrado detalles de esculturas en este tipo de edificios que se encuentran incrustados con formas de personas y esto también pasa con iglesias y edificios como este que se usan para albergar bancos o instituciones de otra índole, acá en la presente imagen les puedo mostrar estas figuras junto a un reloj y a mí parecer tiene conexión con los estilos clásicos y griegos. Es solo mi opinión, estoy en constante aprendizaje 😅.
Ahora, también es de importante valor mencionar que éste edificio quedó como patrimonio histórico nacional y que la nueva sede del banco francés está ubicada en un edificio al extremo de moderno, con vitrales y una apariencia futurista. Edificio al cual visitaré y espero poder acceder a su interior al menos al Hall ya que la seguridad de dicho banco es muy fuerte.
