AI DUNGEON | A Game Where You Can Do Anything You Want to Do 💻 [ENG/ESP]

When you hear the word "game" or "video game", what do you think of? You could think of mario, a sonic game, a puzzle game or any shooter, everything counts, since the world of video games is unlimited and anything can be done...

And if I ask you which is the game where you can do anything, what game do you think of? You could imagine the GTA saga, The Sims or even Minecraft, since they are games in which you can do anything you want as long as it doesn't exceed the programming limits...

Now, what if I told you that there is a video game where you can do literally anything you want? Seriously, literally anything you want to do. Probably, you won't believe me and if you believe me then you think about the games I mentioned before, but you would be surprised if I told you that no, none of the previous games is the one I'm going to tell you about in this post.

Today I will show you one of the games that, for me, is one of the best to date because of the infinite amount of things you can do, a purely text based game in which you can venture (or maybe not) in the great worlds that inhabit here, you can be whatever you want whenever you want, that's right I'm talking about AI DUNGEON, without more to say, let's start the post!

AI DUNGEON, WHAT IS IT?

AI DUNGEON is a game created by the developer Latitude where you can do whatever you want thanks to an artificial intelligence.

In this game you can do anything from riding into space on a coke-flavored gasoline-fueled horse, to breaking houses with telekinesis thanks to a power granted to you by the Greek god Zeus and the brotherhood of half-angel demons, yes, that's how crazy this game can be if you put your mind to it.

All this is thanks to an artificial intelligence called "Dragon", which is responsible for making all this possible, this thanks to its large database where all kinds of jargon, stories, cultures, descriptions and more things said by users of this game are stored.

This artificial intelligence is constantly evolving and is responsible for the game to make sense and coherence between the story you want to do and the actions of the character, it is adaptive and if you want to make a crazy story, the artificial intelligence follows the game; if you want to make a zombie apocalypse story, the artificial intelligence follows the game and so on.

GAMEPLAY

The gameplay is simple, write and touch buttons, then I will tell you how it is, simple and intuitive:

Story: when you click this button and write in the text, you become the narrator until you change the button, this section is used to recount things that happened in your adventure; after you write, the artificial intelligence will continue the story for you.

Do: this button is used to describe the actions that your character does, for example: "He scratches his neck, then goes to the temple" you can lengthen everything you want on this button, just like on the of history and talk, since the intelligence will fully understand it, there are no limits.

Speak: and lastly there is the speak button, here you just write a dialogue that you want your character to say so that the npc (so to speak) can understand it, this is one of the most amazing parts of the game, since you can talk about whatever you want with the npc, the game tries to be as realistic as possible, so if you say things to the npc that can offend and/or hurt, the npc will get freaked out and could pass anything.

As you can see, that's the gameplay, there are other buttons in the game, but just knowing that you can enjoy your story and do what you want.

MECHANICS INCLUDED

Now let's talk about the mechanics that the game has, which are the scales, worlds and missions.

Scales: are the currency of the game, with this currency you can buy worlds, energy for adventure and Dragon Energy, which is the premium experience of the game, nothing more than that.

Worlds: the worlds or scenarios are universes previously written by an author, in which there can be different stories, from stories of the modern world to stories where there are unicorns and elves, there can be many things, only it's up to you to discover them.

Missions or World Events: this mechanics are missions and world events that the same game/artificial intelligence gives you when you are in a story, they can be given to you by npcs, the story itself or simply by yourself, they are missions and events that fulfilling them advances in the game or they give you an object, they are simply a mechanic so that you feel like you are in another rpg game and don't lose the custom just because it is a purely text-based game.

ADVANTAGES AND DISADVANTAGES OF GAMEPLAYING

OK, Let's start with the advantages of the game, which are:

1. You can do whatever you want: in this game you can do whatever you want! You can do a lot of things which are countless, just saying that you can even create a girlfriend for free is enough for you to see the greatness of this game.

2. You can choose scenarios generated by other users: Not creative enough? No problem, users produce scenarios on a daily basis so you can play anything!

3. You can play multiplayer: that's right, if that's not enough, you can play with many people in the same world, this sounds amazing because the game gives you the freedom to do whatever you want + play with your friends, simply magnificent.

Now let's move on to the disadvantages:

1. It is pure text: for those who have always been familiar with the great graphics of a game, for them it will be hard to get into AI DUNGEON, this because the game is only in text, which could be boring for some, but for those who read a lot or those who love Dungeons and dragons board games it is a dream come true.

2. "It's only in English": both the interface and the game itself is made in English, and it's not that the intelligence can't speak another language, on the contrary, it can, but most of the community speaks English and this makes it difficult for the artificial intelligence to understand you, so the AI will only give you limited answers or a very robotic experience if you talk to it in a different language.

3. It's free, but if you want an unforgettable experience you have to pay: as usual, in this game there are subscriptions, which give you a better AI, better answers, background music, pixel-art images that reflect what you do in your adventure and many monthly coins, it is not mandatory, but if you really want to feel like you are in a AAA adventure game, then you would have to buy the subscription.

CONCLUSION - IS IT WORTH PLAYING?

Is this game worth playing? My answer would be yes, if you don't mind that the game is pure text and you ever wanted to say and do everything you wanted to the villain of your favorite video games, this game is definitely for you.

This is because, literally, it is a sandbox/open world, full of possibilities and things to do, I could not mention what things you could do in the game, what I can mention are the things you cannot do, which are : force the game to have graphics. And yeah, that's all :b

I recommend it if you are looking to get away from the conventional and have the story you have always wanted to tell or live, since in this game anything could happen, yes, try not to leave the context of the game because it could become a bit... crazy, so to speak.

Cuando te dicen la palabra "juego" o "videojuego", ¿qué es lo que piensas? Podrías pensar en mario, un juego de sonic, un juego de puzzles o cualquier shooter, todo cuenta, ya que el mundo de los videojuegos es ilimitado y cualquier cosa se puede hacer...

¿Y si te pregunto cuál es el juego en el que puedes hacer cualquier cosa? ¿En qué juego piensas? Podrías imaginar en la saga de GTA, ¡Los Sims o hasta Minecraft!, puesto que son juegos en los que puedes hacer cualquier cosa que tú quieras siempre y cuando no exceda los límites de la programación...

Ahora, ¿Qué pasaría si te dijera que existe un videojuego en el que puedes hacer, literalmente, lo que tú quieras? En serio, literalmente todo lo que tú quieras hacer. Probablemente, no me creas y si me crees entonces piensas en los juegos que mencioné anteriormente, pero te sorprenderías si te dijera que no, ninguno de los juegos anteriores es del que te voy a hablar en este post.

El día de hoy te mostraré uno de los juegos que, para mí, es de los mejores hasta la fecha por la infinita cantidad de cosas que puedes hacer, un juego puramente basado en texto en el cual puedes aventurarte (o quizás no) en los grandes mundos que aquí habitan, puedes ser lo que quieras cuando quieras, así es hablo de AI DUNGEON, ¡sin más que decir, empecemos con el post!

AI DUNGEON, ¿QUÉ ES?

AI DUNGEON es un juego creado por la desarrolladora Latitude en donde puedes hacer lo que quieras gracias a una inteligencia artificial.

En este juego puedes hacer lo que sea, desde ir al espacio montado en un caballo con gasolina sabor a coca-cola, hasta romper casas con telequinesis gracias a un poder que se te ha concedido por el dios griego Zeus y la hermandad de los demonios mitad ángel, si, así de loco puede ser este juego si es que te lo propones.

Todo esto es gracias a una inteligencia artificial llamada "Dragon", la cual se encarga de hacer que todo esto sea posible, esto gracias a su gran base de datos en donde se almacenan todo tipo de jergas, historias, culturas, descripciones y más cosas dichas por los usuarios de este juego.

Esta inteligencia artificial evoluciona constantemente y se encarga de que el juego tenga sentido y coherencia entre la historia que quieres hacer y las acciones del personaje, es adaptativa y si quieres hacer una historia loca, la inteligencia artificial te sigue el juego; si quieres hacer una historia de apocalipsis zombie, la inteligencia artificial te sigue el juego y así.

JUGABILIDAD

La jugabilidad es simple, escribir y tocar botones, a continuación te diré como es, simple e intuitivo:

Historia: cuando le das clic a este botón y escribes en el texto, tú te conviertes en el narrador hasta que cambies de botón, este apartado sirve para relatar cosas que pasaron en tu aventura; luego de que escribas, la inteligencia artificial continuará la historia por ti.

Hacer: este botón sirve para describir las acciones que hace tu personaje, por ejemplo: "Se rasca la nuca, para luego ir al templo" puedes alargar todo lo que quieras en este botón, al igual que en el de historia y hablar, ya que la inteligencia lo entenderá totalmente, no hay límites.

Hablar: y por último está el botón de hablar, aquí tan solo escribes un diálogo que quieres que diga tu personaje para que el npc (por así decirlo) lo pueda entender, esta es una de las partes más sorprendentes del juego, puesto que puedes hablar de lo que quieras con el npc, el juego trata de ser lo más realista posible, por lo que si le dices cosas al npc que pueden ofender y/o lastimar, el npc se sacará de onda y podría pasar cualquier cosa.

Como ven, esa es la jugabilidad, hay otros botones en el juego, pero con solo saber eso puedes disfrutar de tu historia y hacer lo que quieras.

MECÁNICAS INCLUIDAS

Ahora hablemos de las mecánicas que tiene el juego, las cuales son las scales, mundos y misiones.

Scales: son la moneda del juego, con esta moneda puedes comprar mundos, energía para la aventura y Dragon Energy, la cual es la experiencia premium del juego, nada más eso.

Mundos: los mundos o escenarios, son universos previamente escritos por un autor, en el cual puede haber diferentes historias, desde historias del mundo moderno hasta historias en donde hay unicornios y duendes, puede haber muchas cosas, solamente te toca a ti descubrirlas.

Misiones o World Events: esta mecánica son misiones y eventos de mundo que el mismo juego/inteligencia artificial te da al estar en una historia, pueden dártelas npcs, la propia historia o simplemente tu mismo, son misiones y eventos que al cumplirlos avanzas en el juego o te dan un objeto, simplemente son una mecánica para que te sientas en un juego rpg más y no se pierda la costumbre únicamente por ser un juego puramente basado en texto.

VENTAJAS Y DESVENTAJAS DEL JUEGO

OK, Empecemos con las ventajas del juego, las cuales son:

1. Puedes hacer lo que te dé la gana: ¡en este juego puedes hacer lo que tú quieras! Puedes hacer muchas cosas las cuales son incontables, con nada más decir que puedes hasta crear una novia completamente gratis es suficiente para que veas la grandeza de este videojuego.

2. Puedes elegir escenarios generados por otros usuarios: ¿no tienes la suficiente creatividad? No hay problema, ¡los usuarios producen escenarios a diario para que puedas jugar en cualquier cosa!

3. ¡Puedes jugar multiplayer!: así es, por si no fuera poco, puedes jugar con muchas personas en un mismo mundo, esto suena increíble porque el juego te da la libertad de hacer lo que quieras + jugar con tus amigos, simplemente magnífico.

Ahora pasemos con las desventajas:

1. Es puro texto: para los que siempre han estado familiarizados por los grandes gráficos de un juego, para ellos será difícil entrar a AI DUNGEON, esto porque el juego es solamente en texto, lo cual podría ser aburrido para unos, pero para quienes leen mucho o a quienes les encantan los juegos de mesa de Dungeons and dragons es un sueño hecho realidad.

2. "Está solo en inglés": tanto la interfaz como el juego en sí está hecho en inglés, y no es que la inteligencia no pueda hablar otro idioma, al contrario, si puede hacerlo, solo que la mayor parte de la comunidad habla inglés y esto dificulta a la inteligencia artificial para poder entenderte, por lo cual la IA solo te dará respuestas limitadas o una experiencia muy robótica si es que le hablas en un idioma distinto.

3. Es gratis, pero si quieres una experiencia inolvidable tienes que pagar: como es costumbre, en este juego existen suscripciones, las cuales te otorgan una mejor IA, mejores respuestas, musicas de fondo, imágenes pixel-art que reflejan lo que haces en tu aventura y muchas monedas mensuales, no es obligatorio, pero si de verdad quieres sentir que estás en una aventura de juego AAA, entonces tendrías que comprar la suscripción.

CONCLUSIÓN - ¿VALE LA PENA JUGARLO?

¿Vale la pena jugar este juego? Mi respuesta sería sí, si no tienes inconveniente con que el juego sea puro texto y alguna vez quisiste decirle y hacerle todo lo que querías al villano de tus videojuegos favoritos, este juego es sin duda para ti.

Esto debido a que, literalmente, es un sandbox/mundo abierto, lleno de posibilidades y cosas por hacer, no podría mencionarte que cosas podrías hacer en el juego, lo que si puedo mencionarte son las cosas que no puedes hacer, las cuales son: forzar al juego a tener gráficos. Y ya, eso es todo :b

Te lo recomiendo si buscas salirte de lo convencional y tener la historia que siempre has querido contar o vivir, ya que en este juego cualquier cosa podría suceder, eso sí, procura no salirte del contexto del juego porque podría tornarse un poco... loco, por así decirlo.
