Blips and Beeps

In beeps and blips the world progresses
Technological advancement astounds and depresses
the reality around us distorted and meta
will these futures truly be better?

A knifes edge between disaster and triumph
A shift of the scales and we are food for the lions
or whales perhaps? only time will tell
a good thing we arrived before the first bell

an opportunity to shape the new institutions
that live on the chain and code the solutions
finance, governance, and yes even leisure
it turns out that humans can be paid for their pleasure

but surely they say this must be a bubble
what witchcraft is this its nothing but trouble
yet the beeps and the blips that zip round the world
are perfectly fine when controlling the herd
as long as the blips keep control in their hands
the beeps do not boop unless they give commands

the minute the blips distribute the power
away from the kings and their custom built towers
the narrative changes and disinformation begins
but belief in their truths already wears thin
and beeps stream onward round the globe as it spins
perhaps this time... the boops will win.
