Tonight i finally finished my entry for #needleworkyourjeans contest https://peakd.com/hive-127911/@needleworkmonday/needleworkmonday-needlework-your-jeans-contest... To enter, my idea is making jeans into something cute and useful, so then i decided to make a cutie cat zippered pouch. And now i would like to share how i made it.

Skills needed :

back stitch, running stitch, whipped stitch

Materials & things needed :

• pencil
• unused thick paper
• scissors
• water erasable pen
• oxford denim fabrics in navy and soft blue color
• red and pink felt fabric
• sewing needle
• blue grey sewing thread
• embroidery floss in pink, black and white
• 15 cm zipper in navy color
• straight pins

How to make it:

1ST

First i drew the cat face on the thick paper with pencil then i cut it off. After that i transferred it on the navy denim with pen, the whole one for the back. While for the front, upper part with the navy, while the bottom part with the brighter color.

2ND

I cut off the front parts first. Then i tried to join them with the zipper and i pinned the fabric to the zipper like below.

3RD

I did the same thing to the upper part. Then i back stitched the upper and bottom part to the zipper.

4TH

After finished, i cut the pink felt for the nose then whipped stitched it on the face. Then i back stitched the smiling eyes of the cat with six strands of black embroidery floss.

5TH

Then i pinned the big back whole cat head to the red felt, cut them off. Now i pinned it to the front part which already had joined with the zipper.

6TH

Last thing i did was just doing the running stitch around.

7TH

I turned it up. Oops, i almost forgot the whiskers. With four strands of white floss, i made the long stitches. Then voila, cutie cat is now ready to accompany me..
