Walking around Marinka and picking thyme 🌿

Herbs, and especially our Bulgarian herbs growing here on our territory, are one of our treasures..in my personal opinion, of course 🙂 And whenever we have the opportunity, we go to the nearest forest to pick them. With @nanast and another friend we decided traditionally after work to see if there was any thyme left, because it should be blooming by now..

The place that we chose and knew that there is for sure is the vicinity of the village of Marinka, 12 km from Burgas.


Thyme is one of my favorite herbs for tea, and I often use it in the kitchen in a variety of dishes.

What we found was that the season of this wonderful herb had really passed, and the little that was left was very difficult to harvest because of the tall grass that had sprung up very quickly because of the constant rains.

There was also some chamomile left over.

And with the beautiful sunset we sent the day..
