Enjoying some blue skies
A breath of fresh air
Today was a pretty nice day and I had to get out and enjoy the nice weather. Last week it was snowing, cold and all around crappy weather. I haven't been sleeping so great since I started coming off of my medication, so I got up pretty early today and got bored enough to go outside.
I grabbed my camera and headed out the door. I had my 100mm macro lens on my camera and wanted to challenge myself to take some pictures in a different way than I normally would.
One thing I love about the Canon 100mm f/2.8 lens is how awesome it makes the bokeh look in the background. There aren't many lenses that can do such a good job at making your main subject stand out so much from the background like this lens can.
Sometimes I like to get up close to random things and take pictures just to see how it turns out. Photography is all about making ordinary things look interesting and showing them in different ways than people normally look at them.
It was nice to get outside and just wander around snapping pictures of stuff. I can't wait for it to warm up a bit more and then I can set up my hummingbird feeder and hopefully get some shots of some hummingbirds in flight.
Have you been taking pictures lately? I hope so because tomorrow is going to be a big day for Hive because the Deranged Photography Contest is going to be returning and making its debut here on the Hive Blockchain.
Thank you for taking the time to check out this post and my pictures. I am looking forward to starting up my photo contest again and hoping that there will be a lot of participation here on Hive.
Took one photo while playing football 😁
Nice
I love seeing everything soming back to life, great shots, I hope you and your family are all doing okay xx
Thank you. I wish that there were more things blooming today. Maybe by next week there will be some buds on the trees.
Wish I had a nicer camera to take photos I went out for a walk a couple days ago saw a nice shot took a pic with my phone but would of been nice to have a good camera.
I used my iPhone 11. I also have a GoPro hero5 what would you recommend using to take photos till I could get a camera and what is a good beginners camera that doesn't cost to much any recommendations.
That is a great shot. Your iPhone 11 is a really good camera and that should be good enough for you, unless you really want to get into photography and have more control over the different elements of photography like focal length, aperture and stuff like that. For now, I would suggest that you watch some tips on cell phone photography.
Cool thanks for the advice. I am going to look for some videos on cell phone photography later today. It is 6am over here got to catch a few z's.
Cant wait to see some hummingbird's pictures and cant wait for tomorrow's Deranged Photography Contest 😜
Hopefully we get some hummingbirds that come to our home. We have had a few over the years, but we never had any feeders out, so hopefully putting a feeder out will draw them out a lot more regularly.
You'll have them for sure. I use to have just few flowers at my old house which is not very close to nature and even so use to get different hummingbirds coming everyday.
I've been taking tons of photos lately. Here's one from today.
That is cool. It reminds me of the maps from Call of Duty, lol.
