HIVE TALKS: TIME FRAMING & MANAGEMENT(MY WHOLE DAY IN WORDS).

Time management is an important skill that we ought to learn especially for those who want to really make it on Hive.

We have established countless times that the way forward is Consistency, Engagement and Quality content. However, all those don't matter when you can't align your time right.

I think two or three days ago, in a WhatsApp group created for Newbies and managed by @jaydr, someone wanted to know how we manage our time to get the results we do get on Hive.

I did let him know that Hive stopped being just a means months ago to me and became a very important and essential part of me. Hence, my day on Hive starts from 6pm the previous day.

The first question was "How"? Yep. How can your day start at 6pm? I'll explain.

I help my mother in the morning, I'm a student of both formal and Spiritual education right now (as I joined Bible school) and I'm also a Hiver. I also had to sacrifice my time at the gym (which is just 1½ hours daily). I don't know for others because 24hours is clearly not enough for me.

I don't joke with my sleep. I have to get atleast 6 hours of sleep if I want to function well these days. Now I'll go into details of how I give away my time.

@young-boss-karin made a post I'll never forget about allocating 5 hours a day to Hive. That may be impossible to others who have multiple other things to do with their time.

Recently, I created a time frame to accommodate a lot of my activities. It is extremely hard to adjust to this rigorous exercise but it is very important if I do want to become somebody here on Hive. If I want to be noticed and most importantly, If I want to contribute and not just take.

Trust me when I say it's almost impossible to actually stick to it and thank God for @belemo who kicked me up from moping around to start producing results. I felt like a newbie all over again but what do I care? That's the best feeling. Finding one's roots.

So, my day on Hive starts by 6pm the previous day but my whole day actually starts from 12am.

12am I'm up to pray for about an hour or so, study my Bible and go back to bed. By 5am, I'm up again. Originally, I'd take that time to browse thoroughly through Leofinance as that's the time most of my favorite authors release their content but I moved it. Why? Morning devotion. Lol.

So by 6am, I make a quick sweep of Hive/Leofinance if I can before leaving the house with my mom by 7am. 7am-11am I haven't touched my phone because I'm totally busy with customers.

11am I'm home and browsing through Dreemport. Dreemport and the Hive Communication Group on WhatsApp is my warmup before I delve into the main thing. I start by curating 5 post on Dreemport then move to WhatsApp and read and curate about 5 more before I get into my plan of focusing on one particular community a day.

This is where Hive starts from the previous day. I should already know the day before what Community I'm facing because like I was saying to someone in The Hive Terminal on discord, When I go through communities I feel in control and organized. I know what to expect. So from like 12-1pm after my Hive warmup, I go for a quick shower and then relax on my couch with lunch/breakfast. Can't remember the last time I had a proper breakfast.

After I'm done eaten, I would take up my phone and start on that particular community. Maybe I start from following the links on a prompt page or I'd just browse randomly. Sometimes I keep going and totally forget that I'm supposed to be working with a time frame. When I look at the time, it's about 4 or 5pm.

That's when I start writing my own post. These days, I never release anything unless I'm sure I've curated atleast 5 posts(except on sundays when I'm at church almost the whole day from 7am) because once I release a post, I relax and I hate that feeling.

Might be totally insignificant but I made it to number 50 on the Hive Engagement table and won 1 Hive. Isn't that awesome? Because that was enough incentive for me to keep going.

However, mind you that this is my way of dealing with Hive. I start to study after I've made my post around 6 or 7pm till a good 9pm before I read my inspirational books for 15mins each have my bath, brush my teeth, thank God and go to bed only to wake again at 12am to begin all over again.

This is how I manage my time. You need to make a To-do list, get someone who'd hold you accountable. In my case, I have no one like that so I have to motivate myself.

Remember, what works for me might not work for you because we have different beliefs and different activities but there are things that'll never change:

• mental preparation

• physical preparation (list)

• intense fire/motivation (very crucial)

• incentive (learn to appreciate yourself after a job well done)

• Communication (reach out to others and ingratiate yourself. This is why discord groups are important)

• total cruise (don't see Hive as a chore. Once you begin to see Hive as a chore, take time off and come back. In this period, remind yourself why Hive is NOT a chore. A very hard thing to do but totally worth it).

That's my take in this past few months of being on Hive. Trust me, my time frame has changed multiple times and I'm sure it would again. This is just one of many times.

Thank you for this!
Really helps one to see Hive engagement from a strategic point.

I guess the best way for me will be to do some social media substitution really, cos sometimes I'm working almost round the clock.
Thanks for the tips!
