HiveBloPoMo Day 13: In Which we Celebrate our Feline Friends on Caturday!

avatar

It is Saturday and it's now day THIRTEEN of HiveBloPoMo; the days seem to run together more and more... and I am always keeping an eye on UTC time, these days... rather than my own local time... so I don't accidentally miss a day.

You can read more about HiveBloPoMo here, if you feel so inclined.

Today's writing prompt is "Share 5 feline photos for Caturday." No problem! I have millions of cat photos... OK, maybe that's an exaggeration... but...

This formidable creature is "Raddish," one of my cats while I lived in Texas

I Have Had Cats for Pretty Much ALL My Adult Life...

Part of the joy of having cats is that they get in the middle of everything , pretty much all the time.

In fact, I would hazard a guess that I couldn't possibly be as much of an active Blogger as I am if it wasn't for voice-to-text technology. Even as I write these words, there is a cat draped across my right arm. And that pretty much makes it impossible to type. And far more likely that I will miss deadlines!

Not Photoshop; Catshop...

Above, you see "Shadow"... known to quite a few on Hive as @curatorcat because he actually has his own blog here. He insisted.

People get kind of silly about their cats...

Here we have Orange and Kramer... they were best friends, and two of our more recent cats

Cats and humans have an interesting relationship. In many ways these pet and human relationships can be every bit as close as dogs and humans, even though in a quite different way.

Cats are often the preferred pets of introverts — of which I happen to be one — because they tend to be quiet and pretty much like to mind their own business, while dogs are more gregarious and outgoing intend to force their owners to go out for walks and get out in public.

Brady and Kramer, sharing a box... if I can get in it, it is big enough!

Of course I like both cats and dogs but if push came to shove, I am definitely more of a cat person and a dog person.

This was "Big." He was a magnificent gentle fluffball...

And so, this has been a house of many cats... and still is!

Thanks for stopping by, and enjoy the rest of your week!

We always had cats since 1975. We had a few dogs, but they took more time than we had for them. The cats as you say, are less demanding.
