Hoy le hicieron la resonancia a mi mamá. | My mom had an MRI today.

Feliz noche amigos, hoy nuestro día no fue tan ajetreado ya que pasamos casi todo el día en casa, ayer les comenté que mi mamá necesitaba hacerse una resonancia magnética y ayer fuimos a varios lugares y la doctora la neuróloga que la está tratando dijo que ella me recomendaba hacer este estudio en el hospital clínicas del este ya que era mucho más completo, así que ayer fuimos a este lugar y nos dieron la cita para hoy a las 4 de la tarde.

Good evening friends, today wasn't too busy since we spent almost the entire day at home. Yesterday I mentioned that my mom needed to have an MRI, and we went to several places. The neurologist treating her recommended she have the test done at the Hospital Clínicas del Este because it was much more comprehensive. So yesterday we went there and they gave us an appointment for 4 pm today.

Pocas son las veces que he visitado está clínica y ayer quien tomó la cita y todo fue una tía así que hoy no sabía muy bien a dónde me tenía que dirigir, pero el vigilante de la clínica nos llevó hasta el área de imagen que es donde nos teníamos que dirigir para realizar la resonancia.

I have visited this clinic only a few times, and yesterday it was an aunt who made the appointment and everything, so today I didn't really know where I had to go, but the clinic's security guard took us to the imaging area, which is where we had to go to have the MRI done.

Antes de entrar al lugar donde se realizaría la resonancia me dieron una encuesta que debía llenar con toda la información necesaria de mi mamá, había algunas preguntas que no sabía que colocar pero la chica que me estaba atendiendo me oriento a qué debía responder. Cómo algunas personas no toleran bien este examen nos hicieron pasar para hacer primero el examen y al salir de este se haría el pago del estudio.

Before entering the room where the MRI would be performed, they gave me a questionnaire to fill out with all the necessary information about my mother. There were some questions I wasn't sure how to answer, but the woman helping me guided me. Since some people don't tolerate this exam well, they had us go in to have the MRI done first, and we would pay for the study afterward.

Al pasar al lugar donde le harían la resonancia nos estaba esperando una enfermera que fue la encargada de colocarle una vía, está será usada para administrar el contraste que lleva este estudio.

Upon entering the room where the MRI would be performed, a nurse was waiting for us and was in charge of placing an IV line, which will be used to administer the contrast agent used in this study.

Pensé que me harían salir de la habitación, pero me permitieron quedarme pero no podía entrar justo donde estaba la máquina de la resonancia. Este examen duro aproximadamente 30 minutos y eso que yo estaba en la parte de afuera sentía en ruido que hacía todo esté examen.

I thought they would make me leave the room, but they allowed me to stay, though I couldn't go in near the MRI machine. The exam lasted about 30 minutes, and even though I was outside, I could hear all the noise from the whole thing.

No podía faltar una foto con mi mamá, aunque ella no se sentía muy bien. Dijo que salió bastante aturdida de este examen. Pagamos y nos dijeron que el resultado debería estar el viernes al finalizar la tarde.

Of course, I had to take a picture with my mom, even though she wasn't feeling very well. She said she left the exam feeling quite dazed. We paid and they told us the results should be ready by Friday afternoon.
