Season Hunt Challenge - Some Sweets and Gifts
This is my entry post for the Season Hunt Challenge Week 10 by @barbara-orenya in the Feel Good Community! The theme this week is Sweets and Gifts! You can learn more about the contest and how to enter HERE!
Well, the Holidays really weren't so bright and merry for @deerjay but, luckily, I had a Season Hunt to help take my mind off "all that". As a matter of fact, I didn't take one photo on Christmas day so most of my photos were taken after Christmas day and I improvised a little bit here and there. Anyway, I hope you like my photos so let's get to it! How about some scrumptious cookies on a plate decorated with presents! I bet Santa would've loved having a few of these!
I'm happy that I found that plate in my cupboard. I feel like it encompasses the theme of both sweets and gifts. I also found these little chocolates wrapped up like gifts. Even better is that they were half off at the candy shop since I purchased them a few days after Christmas.
Since I have this little light-up tree I decided to place the little chocolates around it and include the photo for my post.
Pretty little boxes with a gift card and or cash tucked inside make for a nice gift!
Getting back to the sweets though, I did pick up a few more little foil wrapped chocolates while I was at the candy shop. Like these colorful Santas and snowmen ...
... and a whole platoon of foil wrapped toy soldiers. They were sold out of the little nutcrackers.
COOKIE BREAK!! Mmmm! 😋
Just two more photos to show you! Sometimes gifts aren't wrapped but slipped into a gift bag with some tissue paper.
My last photo is for the people (probably all one of you..lol) who may be wondering what the little chocolates look like under the foil wrapper. First, they are all milk chocolate and most of them have a nice little design underneath the foil as well. All except the wrapped gifts that is, they are just a little block of chocolate but, hey, it is better than a lump of coal at least!! 😉

I must say that some years for me it is a rather stressful period and not necessarily the very pleasant moment it could be..this year I think I was more relaxed and above all I had really decided to let go and not to stress myself, so it was a good time ... sorry if you didn't have a great time my friend..
Edit : I've just read your post about your Christmas and understand now better why it was a horrible time...you indeed better stay away from this family, you don't owe anthing to anybody except to yourself, you have to be kind and gentle to you and that also mean make yourself and well-being your priority..😉😘

I always wish for beautiful moments for all even if my own are not so much sometimes. That is life sometimes but sad times usually pass in time. So sorry that your Holidays weren't as bright and merry as you would have it. But your hunt post doesn't show the kind of Holidays you went through. Those trophies are all so wonderful. Starting with the plateful of cookies with gifts printed around the plate. Two birds with one stone! And so with those gift-wrapped chocolates! What a great find for this hunt. And at half the price! Perfect timing I would say.
My grandson will really love those tin foil chocolate soldiers. And the best thing is the chocolates aren't just plain blocks but actually carved figures. I sure would love to see how my grandson's face will look like when I offer him a choco Santa. Priceless.

Thanks so much @gems.and.cookies!! I loved your "hunt" post very much also!! It was a nice surprise to see that the foil wrapped chocolates had a design on the actual chocolate and I liked them just as much if not more but probably the foil protects the candy as well as being decorative.

Those foil wrapped chocolate figures looked real good to eat, Dee. It does seem most gifts are in the bags with tissue paper. The good thing about receiving the Christmas themed gift bags is they can be reused next year-as long as one remembers to change the name tag. 😃
I like your little lit up tree with the brightly colored gift boxes and the sweets look delicious. I could use one with a cuppa tea or coffee. 🍪 😊

Thanks so much Jo!! They are pretty good for being local. I re-use the gift bags but something about a wrapped gift just is prettier (usually) to me. I have been enjoying more tea lately due to my reflux. I've been drinking decaf apricot and ginger. They are both pretty good but I do miss having coffee. I also prefer sweets like cookies with coffee over tea as well. I better shut up now before I talk myself into having a big ole cup of coffee..lol. Take care! 💞
