Friendly Passed Away ~ RIP Sweet Little Cat
It is with great sadness that I tell you that, Friendly, my sweet little cat passed away on Saturday. Friendly got her name because she was quite possibly the sweetest and friendliest cat that I've ever had. She was born outside from a feral cat but very early on endeared herself to us. I like to say that she adopted us and once we took her in she became a part of our family for a little over fourteen years.
I feel as though it has been even more difficult for me as Friendly was not only a member of our family but she was also like a good friend to me. When I had surgery a while back Friendly stayed by my side which was a great comfort since I was alone at times. She pretty much was always by my side and would lay her head on my arm as I would type up my posts. If she wasn't right on me then she was very near by.
I kinda' feel like the "hits" keep coming at me lately. Losing her has been hard on me and I think it will be hard for quite a while. I really miss her so much already. I firmly believe though that I will see her again when I pass on and that helps me to cope a bit more. I love you my sweet little Friendly cat and you will be in my heart forever! 💞

I’m so sorry to hear that Friendly passed Dee.😪 I know how much you loved her. Fourteen years is a good age for a cat to live but, of course, you wanted her around much longer.

I wanted to let you know I’m going to be away at my sister’s cottage for a few days and will not be on hive while there.

We have lost our cat a few months ago and I know how you must feel.
A cat might be only a nice pet for many people, but for us it is a member of the family and we miss it like a real person.

After our cat "Whiskey" died we said we would not have another cat after this loss, but last Friday we got two kitten.
They love the scratch tree of our previous cat and I can tell you seeing them reminds me every day on Whiskey and that's good 😁

Thanks so much @thekittygirl!! That was a big box that she decided to take up residence in for a short time. I kept that box in my kitchen for a short while cause she liked sitting in it so much. It is one of my favorite photos of her. 💖
So sorry to hear about this loss. Last year I also list my favourite cat; i grieved for six months. This is really tough. Hold her memories in your heart SBD feel warmed by this bond you have with your cat. Hoping that she would be reincarnated into a much better life soon.

We had to bring our elderly cat Sid to the vet for his final visit on June 26th, and I still haven't been able to write about it. Things like this are definitely heart punchers. Keeping you and your family in my thoughts, @deerjay and thanks for sharing those beautiful shots of Friendly. 💔❤️

I keep expecting her to run under my feet here but then I remember that she is not here anymore. I had to do replies in increments because I would get too sad. I just hope she is happy and not in pain and one day I hope to see her on the "other side". 💕

I am so sorry to hear about Friendly! Well 14 years sounds like a long time, it's no time when you are so loved. It's amazing how they become apart of here without you even being aware. One day they are the cat and the next day they are part of the family. I can't tell you but it won't hurt for a long time, but I can tell you that part of that hurt is from all that love and you just can't buy that! I hope you're doing okay and just know that I believe you have had your fill have you seen this will be looking up anytime soon. Love to you and may she rest in peace.

Thank you very much Denise!! I really miss her as she kept me company and was always by my side. I know it will just take some getting used to not having her around especially when I'm alone in the house. Tiger the other inside cat is a daddy's boy but I think he misses Friendly also even though he use to pick on her. 💖
Yes. I know what you mean. They miss them, despite their differences. I always find it funny that cats choose their people and a dog is usually close to the person that cares for them.
I hope you are doing better and in time, Tiger will suck up to you! LOL

I still keep expecting to see her but then I remember that she is no longer here. I guess it will take a while to adjust to life without her here but I know I'll see her on the other side one day. 💖

So sorry for your loss. Another great cat person @galenkp just lost his best cat friend of 22 years Merlin. We almost lost our latest rescue Lil' Guy, He has only been with us 15 months. Be it a year or 20. The bond we form with them is real and strong.

It's such a terrible loss and leaves me feeling empty. Merlin was my best friend for 22 years. It still makes me cry at times, but then it's only been a few weeks I guess. I still call out for him sometimes, forgetting he's gone.
I know just how you feel. Right now the sadness is overwhelming and I'm having a hard time with it but I know it will take some time to adjust to her not being here. I read your post on Merlin and it made me cry for your loss and the pain of losing him. My husband and I held Friendly and told her she was a "good girl" though our tears as well. Thank you for this.."He is now everywhere we go, as we carry him in our hearts and memories." I already knew that Friendly would be in my heart and memories forever but it means even more to think of her being with me everywhere I go. 💕
It's a terrible moment to lose a pet...I think about Merlin all the time and miss him so much. You know what it's like with Friendly of course.
