This is my entry for @selfhelp4trolls' What is your relationship with animals cross culture question. I will be using some of the prompts in his post to answer my questions. Enjoy!
Do you like animals? Why or why not?
I love animals but not all. There are some animals that you can not but fall in love with while their are some that looks very scary. Apart from the scary ones, there are some that are too wild for me especially those scary looking animals that I see in National Geographic TV station. I'm a lover of Nat Geo Wild, so I have seen different documentaries on the lifestyle of so many animals and I enjoy watching it. Even though I don't like brutality I still enjoy the show of strength, pace, cunnines and agility of some animals such as lion, tiger, etc when they are hunting their prey down.
The most friendly and common animal that we have around here as pet are actually dogs, even though some people also have cats as pet (we'd come back to this). Even though I have not been able to personally raise a dog, I have lived around the ones raised by my brothers and friends as well. They are so much adorable.
Are animals respected or looked down upon in your culture?
In this part of the world where hunting is some people's profession, there is a high consumption of animals which tend to make most available animal a potential meat in the pot except a very few that are not edible or not culturally permitted for consumption. This is the reason most animals that are indigenous to Africa/Nigeria are already endangered and there is fear that they are going into extinction. There is a documentary I saw about elephant sometimes ago and it was revealed that so many elephants are being killed in Africa every year because of their tusk - trading of elephant tusk is a business that pays people millions of dollars according to research.
The reverse is the case when we see clips from other countries where people respect and take care of animals for the fun of it not because they want it to be matured for consumption. In some other other clips, I have seen cars patiently stop for animals to cross the road. That is the show of utmost respect to animals which I'm not sure is possible in this part of the world.
What wild animals can be found where you live (or in your hometown)?
The most common wild animals I see around often are reptiles such as snakes, alligators, etc.
The only time we get to see other types of wild animals is when we visit the zoo.
Are any animals considered good luck or bad luck in your culture?
Of course, there are quite a number of animals that mean either good or bad luck in Nigeria
Dove, for example is a sign of good luck in Christianity as it is a sign of holiness and purity. Tortoise is another animal that have a positive meaning because it signifies wisdom and smartness.
In the second paragraph of this text, I said we'd come back to talk about cats. Cats are considered evil by most people in this part of the world due to their glowing eye at night among other reasons. Spider 🕸, owl 🦉, snakes 🐍, vulture 🦅 are also some other animals that are considered bad luck.
Do any animals have a specific meaning in your culture?
Bush rat - there is a story I heard about a village in Nigeria where it is a taboo for any indigene of the village to eat this particular species of Bush rat because of what it did for the warriors of the village during a war with another village. It got to a point during the war that there was no water for them to drink and they were losing energy as a result. It was this Bush rat that led them to a place where they can drink from. They were able to defeat their enemies after they refreshed and since then it was a taboo for people to kill or eat this animal in their village.

Saying the longer I wait to kill myself the more people will suffer.
They are reckless and should have shown the proper media what they had before taking me hostage for 5 years. I know there are many in prison that dont deserve to be there because of this. Your stay in prison will not be fun @battleaxe and friends. People are going to want you dead when they find out what you did. I hope you die a slow painful death. You sick mother fuckers.

Its a terrorist act on American soil while some say its not real or Im a mental case. Many know its real. This is an ignored detrimental to humanity domestic and foreign threat. Ask informed soldiers in the American military what their oath is and tell them about the day you asked me why. Nobody has I guess. Maybe someone told ill informed soldiers they cant protect America from military leaders in control with ill intent. How do we protect locked up soldiers from telling the truth?
