FINALLY GOT A SHOP SPACE FOR MY BUSINESS BUT CONSTRUCTION IS STILL ONGOING

Some months back, I shared my plans to start my fashion business and also the stress I went through to get a shop which was futile for so many weeks. It was either the shops were not in a good location, above my budget or the space is too small. The process was very stressful that I was on the verge of giving up because it is not easy to move from one location to another in search of vacant shop spaces.

Until one day in the month of May, my agent called me to come check out a shop at a particular location and upon getting there they just started building the shops - about seven of them in a row. It was still in the foundation level as at that time and since I love the location and the fact that the shops are spacious I had to pay with immediate effect. The owner of the shops assured me that it would be ready in a months time, that is, by June, so I decided to wait and just work from home which was not convinent for me but I had to because I did not have too many options.

I waited for a month and the work is yet to be completed. A month became two months and it is still the same old story that the workers are not taking the work seriously.. Bla bla bla. Well, I had to be patient with him and didn't ask for a refund because I love the location. Presently, the shop is about 95% completed but there is another matter that is arising that makes me feel I'm about to be cheated. The man is telling me that the shop that I choose when I paid about two months ago when it was still at the foundation level have been allocated to someone else even before I came around. He claims that it is the agent that misinformed me about the available shops as at that time.

Now, he's suggesting that I go for another one of my choice which doesn't do down well with me. I have a feeling that he's trying to give the space to someone close to him and want to trick me into changing my mind. I have not agreed with him and I hope he'd give the other person another space. All I anticipate is the completion of the shop so that I can start working from the shop and attract new customer base. It have not really been a easy one working from home, apart from the impact on business, it is also quite exhausting to stay at home all day without having somewhere to go to every morning like every other person.

I will like to appreciate God for directing my steps and helping me to make the best decision. How do I mean? Just this week I saw one of the shops that I'd have opted for being demolished alongside other shops in the area. These shops were marked for demolition some months back after which I may have paid for one of them. What this simply means is that they may not be able to get a refund for their rent because the owner of the shop is also at loss. I don't really know how it will play out but I'm just thankful that I'm not caught in those difficult moments.
