Hello World!

This is the 125th Edition of the Photochain challenge. The Photochain Challenge is a blockchain-like photography contest. If you would like to know more about, read the Photochain Challenge INTRODUCTION Post on HIVE. There, I explain the functioning of the contest and how to participate. I changed the rules of the winner prize a bit of editions ago.

In this post, I'll announce the 2 (two) winners of the 124th Edition of the Contest. Within the next 72 hours, I'll reward both of them with 1 HIVE - as explained in the rules - and will post in the comment section of the 124TH EDITION the transaction confirmation links.

And the Winner is...

The 124th Edition counted 9 (nine) valid participants

The two Key-Subjects were:

Streetlight and Green

These are the 2 (two) Winners of the 124th Edition:

Winner 1

Eolianpariah2

with the start of a path inside a full in green photo

The personal subject is Roof

Winner 2

The personal subject is People

As I promised, I will award the 2 winners with 1 HIVE token each, and I will award the other 2 photos that I appreciated more during the edition with 1 HIVE SBI.

The first honorable mention:

IMPORTANT!!!

I explained in the Introduction Post that you can participate by submitting a photo in the comment section below: you must be the author of the photo.

The photo must contain the 2 Key-Subjects - that will be communicated in each post of the New Edition - and another key-subject of your choice (also contained in the photo). I also explained there how the key-subjects will change and the criteria with which I'll choose them.

Are you Ready?

START!

This weekly edition is the:

125th Edition

The KEY-SUBJECTS for this week are:

ROOF and PEOPLE

Wow, another good participation, a second week full of many awesome photos and subjects. But we chose four ones, and two key-subjects only. This time we have Roof and People, two apparently simple subjects in a town life... or not? I wait for your opinion, I wait for your entry. Thank you everyone again and, as usual, a very big...

GOOD LUCK!

Hi! I think according to wiki, they are one and the same, no?

What are the lamps on the street called?

A street light, light pole, lamppost, street lamp, light standard, or lamp standard is a raised source of light on the edge of a road or path.

Anyway, congrats for being mentioned :)

I hardly can tell you, as I am not a native speaker.

when (a while ago) there was a keyword with a lamp post, it was a lamp post ;)

Oh, I see :D Here in our country we don't call it lamp post but rather street light :D Not a native myself that's why I can relate for it's confusing sometimes :D

Right, but I consider the largest meaning of "streetlight" (a vocabulary said as example "a light in or at the side of a road or public area that is usually supported on a tall post"). So, considering that in the past the lampposts are the most common type of lights in the street, I think the photo is a good representation of the two key-subjects. I'm sorry, I know it may not be a perfect choice, I hope it doesn't cause too much criticism :( !BEER

For the sake of discussion, I don't think lampposts are the issue, but I thought streetlights should have lights and if lampposts are used, there should be light emitting from the lamppost. 😄

Just my two cents. 😁😁😁

The topics this time are easy and obvious, but I have selected a photo which is not that straightforward.

Last year I visited a small village of Jamna in S-E Poland. I found there a small chapel with red tiled ROOF. Next to it there were simple, wooden figures representing PEOPLE murdered by the Nazis during WWII. Each figure has a name and each face is distinct. Men, women, elderly, children, whole families.... The MONUMENTs, made by a local carpenter, were a very powerful image when I saw them on a sunny day.

ROOF + PEOPLE = MONUMENT

Jamna martyrs
