Assange denounces the CIA

For those who know CIA officials as the concealers of America's most terrible secrets, it will come as no surprise to hear of the recent implications of the Assange case.

On August 15, the lawyers of the Australian activist filed a complaint against the intelligence agency in court: the accusation is of having violated the fourth amendment. Denouncing spies for violating privacy and spying can make people smile, but not if the founder of WikiLeaks is involved.

The facts date back to 2017/2018, when some lawyers and journalists met Assange, then protected by the Ecuadorian embassy in London. In this interview, the interested parties delivered their electronic devices to a security company, which, however, according to the indictment, shared the data with the CIA.

The US agency thus illegally copied the information on phones and laptops, keeping all the characters closest to Assange under strict control. This not only on one occasion, but every time the lawyers have visited the activist.

Now the CIA, then director Mike Pompeo and the agency that dealt with the security of the Ecuadorian embassy are under accusation.

The lawsuit again raises a hot topic among those who have been repeatedly pointed out as conspiracy theorists and that is the fact that in total illegality, the US government spies on the conversations of its citizens.

One of the plaintiffs, New York lawyer Deborah Hrbek commented:

I have the right to assume that the US government is not overhearing my private and privileged conversations with my clients and that information about other clients and cases that I may have on my phone or laptop is safe from illegal government intrusion.

It is also an even greater violation given the person involved: the archenemy of the CIA, Assange. For those who do not remember, the Australian activist with WikiLeaks has unearthed numerous documents and secret acts carried out by the USA. Actions like the US military helicopter shooting and killing civilians in Iraq are still in everyone’s eyes.

The US objective, however, is to bury the affair and Assange still, after years of inaction and imprisonment, is destined for extradition to the country that wants him dead.
