Victoria Day Tennis

Today is a holiday in the Great White North (otherwise known as Canada), it is Victoria Day. This is Canada’s oldest national holiday, created to commemorate Queen Victoria’s birthday. Apparently it all started in 1845, when the Queen turned 35 years of age. Even prior to Canada becoming a country in 1867. The Queen herself lived to a ripe old age of 81. Reigning for 63 years, the longest reign until Queen Elizabeth II.
So a perfect day for a little bit of Tennis wouldn’t you say? (nearly perfect minus the somewhat smokey skies) One can’t always be on the hiking trail, gotta mix it up a little. I did play a lot more tennis when we lived in Banff, but nowadays, I do not get on the court nearly as much. I should really get back into it. Keeps one in tip top shape, and is more of an aerobic workout versus hiking , which is both aerobic and anaerobic. Well I guess it’s time to Shower!

My friends and I when we were young invented Bennis. You wear baseball gloves and throw pitches over the net with a baseball. Ball had to bounce once before it could be caught. Fun times.
Sounds like a Seinfeld episode lol, but seriously, I'm sure that was fun, and it does make sense!
Certainly was an episode. Not sure of what though.
Was a great sport. Could only take three steps after a catch (I think). And you could fake people out by making it look like an aggressive throw but then just lobbing it. Can't bounce more than once. Adding spin would mess with people.
Good times.
Only taking three steps after catch definilty makes the game more difficult and probably funner.
