Neighborhood Jack Rabbits

It’s seems like our neighborhoods have been invaded over the last couple of years with Jack Rabbits. Roaming in herds of five, six or more. Honestly though, I enjoy watching them play and run around in the park. Surprisingly, in the dead of winter, they gather and hang out even on a -30° evening. So resilient these critters.

In a few shorts weeks, their coats will thicken and turn white in preparation for the cold Winter months. A Sony A7R III & 100-400mm Sigma lens was used (with a little help from Lightroom).

Awww... how pretty!
I'll never see a jackrabbit here, that's for sure!
They are building houses to the left and right of my neighborhood!

I never saw a jackrabbit until I moved out West. Then, they were everywhere. Up until then, I was used to seeing little cottontail rabbits in the Northeast.

I love when they turn white, carrying their own snowshoes. Great shots and hail! Hail! The gangs are truly there!

It's amazing actually how different they look in the winter compared to the summer. Thanks @dswigle

Nice shots of the rabbit! I'm surprised they're out at -30! Most living things prefer to be a bit warmer! :P
