One of the premier stops along the Icefields Parkway in Jasper Park, Alberta, is definitely the Athabasca Falls. This attraction alone makes the whole journey worthwhile actually. The way in which the barriers are constructed allows you to get very close to the rushing water, almost too close for comfort you might say. At some point in the future, it probably erodes away, but I’m sure the parks are on top of it, so don’t worry.
Athabasca Falls is known to be a class five fall, with a “total drop height” of 24m or 79ft. Peak water-flow happens in July. Truly amazing to observe up close and personal. Not to mention the numerous photo ops.The mist rising from the water is also neat to watch, and creates those impromptu rainbows.

Wow!! You had me at the first shot! There is so much power behind that water! I have to say that as unlikely as I ever say this, but, the details are best in the color!

This is what photography is all about! Thanks for sharing these!

Beautiful scenery like that is good for the soul. I feel compelled to as they say; "Go west young man."

The second one up is absolutely magnificent! That one is a real winner and could see that for sale in a high end shop. Beautiful! That's a lot of snow melt there. I bet one can feel the roar of all that water turbulence.
