Colder in Black & White?

The black and whites make it look frigid out here at the lake, but in fact the weather was quite warm that afternoon. It seems that almost any photo converted to monochrome gives it a cold feel, don't you think? Images captured at Barrier Lake, Kananaskis country, Alberta.
