Tips & Tricks (January 1996)

Tips & Tricks was a magazine dedicated to publishing various tips, strategies, easter eggs, codes and other hints for various games and game systems. I never cared much for it because I’m more interested in game review, news and that sort of thing which this magazine didn’t really provide. However, it does have a very interesting lineage.

Tips & Tricks was a spin-off from VideoGames Magazine, a relatively short lived magazine I didn’t much care for either. But THAT magazine was a revamp of VideoGames & Computer Entertainment which was my absolute favorite video game magazine. Tips & Tricks started as a column in this magazine.

But it doesn’t end there. VideoGames & Computer Entertainment was born from the Video Game Digest column in A.N.A.L.O.G, a magazine for Atari 8-bit computers. So really, the lineage of this magazine spanned all the way from the first issue of A.N.A.L.O.G. in January 1981 to the final issue of Tips & Tricks Codebook in August 2011.

At any rate, pictured above is the January 1996 issue of Tips & Tricks.
