Entré a Instagram después de mucho tiempo y me topé con una cuenta increíble que sigo. Publica puras acuarelas. Artes espectaculares que motivan mucho.

Con tan solo ver algunas publicaciones, ya me dieron ganas de pintar y retomar esta técnica que tanto me gusta y que llevaba tiempo sin hacer.

Es así como me tienen aquí, volviendo a pintar en acuarela. En esta ocasión no me decidí por las donas, sino por arte arquitectónico.

Just by seeing some of her posts, I wanted to paint and take up again this technique that I love so much and that I hadn't done for a long time.

That's how you have me here, returning to paint in watercolor. This time I didn't go for donuts, but for architectural art.

El arte lo dibujé en formato cuadrado. Así fue como concentré la información en un área más reducida. Además que eliminé algunos elementos para enfocarme en la simpleza de las líneas en la arquitectura.

I drew the artwork in square format. This is how I concentrated the information in a smaller area. I also eliminated some elements to focus on the simplicity of the lines in the architecture.

Comencé con el cielo, aunque para mí es una de las cosas más difíciles en acuarela. Aunque puede mejorar bastante, el resultado de este fue aceptable.

También pinté el piso por tener el tono más claro. Recordemos que la acuarela se trabaja, desde lo claro y se va intensificando los tonos.

I started with the sky, although for me it is one of the most difficult things in watercolor. Although it can improve a lot, the result of this one was acceptable.

I also painted the floor because I had the lightest tone. Let's remember that watercolor is worked, starting from the light and intensifying the tones.

Es así como comienzo a dar volumen en el piso, con sombras y probando el color. Además incluyo otro color en un área de las escaleras. También aplico fondo a los edificios.

Voy oscureciendo; aplicando sombras y añadiendo áreas. El arte va adquiriendo volumen y se diferencias las diferentes partes de la arquitectura. El piso también adquiere sombras y deja de ser plano, para acercarse a una vista tridimencional.

A continuación se comienza a ver una gran diferencia cuando se pinta de forma más viva. Los colores son más intensos y el volumen aumenta. Ya para esta etapa pinto el techo del edificio y partes oscuras del punte.

Then you start to see a big difference when you paint more vividly. The colors are more intense and the volume increases. By this stage I paint the roof of the building and dark parts of the stipple.

Las ventanas se ven más definidas por la inclución de sombras. Por primera vez se pinta la parte vegetal. Los troncos de las palmeras comienzan a verse. Voy pintando de abajo hacia arriba.

The windows are more defined by the inclusion of shadows. For the first time the vegetal part is painted. The trunks of the palm trees begin to be seen. I paint from bottom to top.

Llega el verde y con él las palmeras toman vida. En este punto me arrepentí de haberlas puesto en mi dibujo. Me gustaba más un arte, donde las líneas de los edificios sean protagonistas. Ahora veo que la foto no es favorable, ya que las palmeras están un poco atravesadas. Es probable que a muchos les guste esos elementos naturales, pero para mí, el arte arquitectónico debe ser protagonista y la vegetación, algo ornamental.

Quizás eliminando la del centro, se vería bien con las otras dos, porque además crearían una especie de marco hacia el edificio del fondo con los cipreses.

Green arrives and with it the palm trees come to life. At this point I regretted having put them in my drawing. I liked more an art, where the lines of the buildings are protagonists. Now I see that the photo is not favorable, as the palm trees are a bit crossed. It is likely that many like these natural elements, but for me, the architectural art should be the protagonist and the vegetation, something ornamental.

Perhaps by eliminating the one in the center, it would look good with the other two, because they would also create a sort of frame towards the building in the background with the cypress trees.

Al final pienso que me sobraron pinceladas en la vegetación. La imagen anterior me gusta más por lo limpio y que por acercarme más a la original, no supe detenerme.

In the end I think I had too many brushstrokes in the vegetation. I like the previous image better because of its cleanliness and because I got closer to the original, I didn't know how to stop.

De todas maneras estoy contento con el resultado. Además porque es mi regreso a las acuarelas; también porque obtuve muchísima información para mis próximos artes arquitectónicos, donde prevalecerá el minimalismo con tonos claros.
