For a long time I judged the path and the process. I undermined my thoughts of impatience and lived constantly in the future because in my present "there was nothing to admire or be thankful for".

I thought this because the life I had at that time could not make me happy, believing that the life I would have in the future could.

The irony of it all is that I did nothing to change my situation. Complaining was the order of the day and if anyone thought of showing me a solution I immediately blacklisted them.

The days weighed on me, I didn't want to be happy, I cried and if I didn't have to, I looked for an excuse to do it. I walked with a mournful gait, I had invalidated myself without really being invalidated. The world had to carry me and my misfortunes.

Dios, cuestionarse cansa tanto.

Until the body gets tired, or maybe it's the soul, I don't really know how to identify it, maybe it's both. The thing is that the sound your body emits from inside is like a warning signal. "Ugh come on, what's wrong?". The questions came, one after another. I began to question whether life was like this because it was or if it was really like this because I wanted it to be.

God, questioning gets so tiring.

As the questions came, came the feeling of desperation to want to change places. It felt like when you are uncomfortable in one seat on the bus and you instinctively move to another seat. Until it short-circuited.

I was drowning in a glass that wasn't even half full. Fuck how strong the images are for my head "what a shitty life"; I reaffirm it to this day, no matter how serious the expression is. "Is it that life is like that or is it that you are like that?" the question was getting louder.

"I was like that." That's where the answer would come like a big whistle inside the head, incessant.

I used to disparage the present, just because I lived in the was I like that? I am not sure, maybe it was because my situation was not the best, but the responsibility for that was mine, maybe it was that, not wanting to be responsible for changing. I may have been waiting for someone else to come along and do it. Yes, that could be it. Or it is.

A year ago, to be more exact, I was crying because the life I had wasn't the one I wanted, anxiety became a kind of homunculus that followed me everywhere I went and I was terrified to think about it. The life I was living at the time kept me petrified, reluctant to change.

Until I cried so hard that the clouds heard me, I cried and welcomed the new year, in tears. "How do you want to be?" they spoke to me was it someone else? I think it was me; I instinctively answered "happy". It began to be my everyday mantra.

Then I moved forward and some days I may have felt that it hasn't been enough, that more was missing and I gave up. But today I look back and say to myself "thank you, what a happy life you have given me".

I worked hard to get out of all my debt, I stopped eating out of anxiety and I have learned to improve my relationship with food. I managed to become independent and help others to do so. I smile more and respect myself more. I have lost my fear of cameras because I have worked on my self-perception. I have learned to adjust my gaze and I can look at the world with love and compassion.

I really laugh and my laughter is now reaching the clouds. I like to live, I like to breathe, I like my present and that patents in some way or another to all my senses.

A year has passed since the last thought in which I said that my life was shit.

Today I like to say that I love living and I love life and the things I have. And I am grateful for it.

Isn't that enough to consider that I've accomplished all of my 2021 goals? I may have missed losing a few pounds... but this gratitude and fulfillment nothing can take it away from me anymore.

Today I am grateful and beyond thinking about what I will be like in 2022. I am preparing myself to live the road until then, without pressuring myself or living in the impatience of reaching the future faster than time itself.
