[Esp/Eng] Concurso. Observa Piensa Escribe. Sí del cielo te caen limones... | Contest. Observe, Think, Write. If life gives you lemons...

¡Hola hermosa comunidad TopFiveFamily!

Hello, wonderful TopFiveFamily community! I am so happy to greet you again this week and participate in the Observe, Think, Write Contest..
“When life gives you lemons... learn to make lemonade.” This is a phrase we use very often when we go through difficult times. We learn from those events and turn them into lessons.
I want to tell you that many of us learned to be optimistic in the midst of the adversity we are going through. We learned to be resilient, to turn all those events that affected us so much into lessons. These days, I have seen quite a few videos of people reminiscing about the situations we have been through, moments as sour as lemons, when there was no flour and we substituted it with cassava, there was no meat and we substituted it with eggs, there was no deodorant and we used soda with lemon, and to brush our teeth too... We overcame so many setbacks that we have become masters at weathering storms and coming out on top, and the most remarkable thing is that we do it with a smile. They haven't taken away our good humor, That is what keeps us strong and positive in the face of the calamities we have endured.
I was talking to a cousin recently who was complaining that her son had not achieved anything and that there were boys with fewer economic opportunities who had made progress in their lives and never forgot their families and had managed to graduate and become someone, with the little they had, but hers, with all the benefits and financial opportunities, had never achieved anything, not even a university degree. Yet she spoke disparagingly of these people, calling them zarraspastrosos, arañados, very ugly and derogatory terms. That's why I called her out, because I told her that she had forgotten how my siblings and I studied, and then we started using those ugly and derogatory terms that you use to refer to those people, and you really have no idea what I went through, hunger, need, facing and overcoming all the vicissitudes, I managed to get a university degree, just like my siblings. My brother slept in a car because he had nowhere to live, and when he wasn't in class, he drove a taxi so he could put food on the table. Anyone would offer him a bathroom to wash up in. and my sister, since she began her career, wore borrowed or second-hand clothes and graduated six and a half years later as a doctor from one of the most prestigious universities in this country, wearing the same clothes she wore when she entered university. So we knew how to overcome all those setbacks and achieved our objectives and goals. So let's not underestimate that phrase, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” because it is an essential part of each of our lives. It drives us forward when we go through adverse moments that we don't like, but we manage to overcome them successfully and are nourished by the lessons learned from the episode we managed to get through.
