Continuando nuestros paseos por los Pirineos de Lérida, fuimos a la cascada de Gerber. Del pueblo donde estábamos, Esterí d´Áneu a la zona donde comienza el bosque son aproximadamente 20 minutos. Llegamos, estacionamos y comenzamos nuestra aventura en el bosque.

Continuing our walks in the Pyrenees of Lérida we went to the Gerber waterfall. From the village where we were, Esterí d'Áneus to the area where the forest begins is about 20 minutes. We parked and began our adventure in the forest.
Desde el punto donde nos encontrábamos hasta la cascada de Gerber, que era la meta, hay aproximadamente una hora de camino. Para mi asombro y satisfacción, mis nietas hicieron el trayecto con mucho entusiasmo, definitivamente, les encanta el senderismo, disfrutan el momento y se maravillan con lo que ven.
Yo estaba igual de encantada, pues al ver ese bosque tan hermoso no provoca parar de caminar. Por cierto, aquí surgió un comentario que les comparto: Yo dije:
-¡Qué bosque de pinos tan bello! Y me aclararon:
-No son pinos, son abetos y siguió la lección, aunque pertenecen a la misma familia, la diferencia básica es que el pino tiene las hojas puntiagudas y los abetos las tienen redondeadas. Como dicen, cada día se aprende algo.
From the point where we were to the waterfall of Gerber, which was the goal, there is about an hour's walk. To my amazement and satisfaction, my granddaughters made the journey with great enthusiasm, they definitely love hiking, enjoy the moment and marvel at what they see.

Estaba fascinada al estar bajo la sombra de esos árboles tan grande, algo distinto a lo que veo normalmente en mi país, Venezuela, que en las zonas boscosas los árboles son igualmente inmensos, pero por lo general son especies de grandes troncos y muy frondosos, este tipo de bosque solo lo había visto en películas.
De hecho, la invitación es entrar a un mundo de fantasía, pues en una parte del trecho inicial encontramos un cartel de advertencia, ¡debíamos tener cuidado con los troles!, al ver el aviso las niñas se emocionaron muchísimos y nos pusimos como meta encontrar señales de estos míticos seres que viven en los bosques.
I was fascinated to be under the shade of such large trees, something different from what I normally see in my country, Venezuela, where in the wooded areas the trees are equally immense but usually they are species of large trunks and very leafy, this type of forest I had only seen in movies.
In fact, the invitation is to enter a fantasy world, because in a part of the initial stretch we found a warning sign, we had to be careful with the trolls, when we saw the warning the girls were very excited and we set ourselves the goal of finding signs of these mythical beings that live in the woods.
Esto hizo el paseo más ameno, pues buscábamos huellas, escondrijos, restos de comida y la ilusión se materializó cuando entre una zona escarpada, mucho más arriba, hallamos la cabaña del trol y aunque no estaba en ella, las niñas se dieron por satisfechas.
Estos paseos con mis nietas los he disfrutado muchísimos, las encuentro ocurrentes, fantasiosas y entusiastas, la verdad es que me hacía falta una buena dosis de este hacer cariñoso con niños.
This made the walk more enjoyable, because we were looking for tracks, hiding places, remains of food and the illusion materialized when between a steep area, much higher, we found the troll's hut and although it was not in it, the girls were satisfied.
I have enjoyed these walks with my granddaughters very much, I find them witty, imaginative and enthusiastic, the truth is that I needed a good dose of this affectionate way of doing things with children.

Luego se abre una zona no boscosa que nos muestra una hermosa vegetación de gramíneas, con sus flores silvestres y las coloridas mariposas, cuyo camino es bastante árido.

Le sigue a este paso uno que es un gran lecho de piedras, algo escabroso, pero me parece que las reacomodan para evitar mayores peligros.

Una vez alcanzada la meta, toca el retorno el cual incluía encontrar un bonito lugar donde comer lo que llevamos y parar en un buen paso de río porque las niñas querían bañarse, por cierto que no lo hicieron, pues el agua era tan helada que solo "chapotearon" en ella.
En el lugar escogido encontré una piedra que invitaba acostarse a descansar sobre ella y cuando lo hice me topé con esta bella imagen que me sirvió de conexión total con el medio y agradecer por ese momento que tuve la oportunidad de vivir.
Once we reached the goal, it's time to return, which included finding a nice place to eat what we took and stop at a good river crossing because the girls wanted to swim, but they didn't, because the water was so cold that they just splashed in it.
In the chosen place I found a stone that invited to lie down and rest on it and when I did I came across this beautiful image that served me as a total connection with the environment and to thank for that moment that I had the opportunity to live.
