Cute, mythical, and powerful 💖

Today I would like to share with you some of my Pokémon card collection. We will be focusing on Mew in this post. I have a total of 3 Mew cards in my collection.

Mew is one of the most mysterious, capable, and hard-to-capture Pokémon to ever exist. This was the original mythical Pokémon. A tiny cat-like psychic creature that floats around effortlessly. If you played the original Pokémon games, you likely spent a ton of hours just getting to there point where you might get to capture Mew. You may also remember that Mew was notable for its unique ability to learn every Technical Machine, Technical Record, Hidden Machine, and Move Tutor.

Despite being relatively small, Mew is not a Pokémon to scoff at. Although it is mostly known for keeping the peace, it will protect to a deadly degree if the need arises. You may know of Mew as @acidyo's famed Hive avatar. Which was also recently turned into a @hivefolks NFT over on @dlux-io. Mew is an ideal fit for one of Hive's hardest-working keepers of balance.

In the Pokémon TCG, I've noticed that Mew cards are sometimes underwhelming during gameplay, especially in comparison to other psychic types. The monetary value of the cards on the other hand is an entirely different story. Mew cards are worth quite a bit usually, too bad I only have three now. My childhood collection had several that are surely worth a lot now. One of my favorite Pokémon cards of all time was the famed Ancient Mew.

Ancient Mew is a Psychic-type Basic Pokémon card. It was released as a promotional card in the year 2000 and it could only be obtained by attending the Pokémon Movie that was released the same year. ^Source

You surely are like me and cannot read a thing on this Ancient Mew card, but I think that we can also agree that the design is absolutely stunning. I received this card back in 2000 when I went to the movie theater to see the original Pokémon Movie. I was only around 8 years old at the time, but I can still remember the day. I was obsessed with this card, although I wasn't able to use it in a match ever.

One thing I remember the most about this ancient card is the fact that it was actually a sticker that you could peel off. Of course, that would have totally ruined the card, so I never did that. I can just imagine all of the young kids who placed the sticker on their card binder. Only to find out as adults that the card is worth hundreds if not thousands of dollars now.

Mew's DNA is also the Pokémon which was combined with human DNA to create Mewtwo in a lab. If you've watched the Pokémon Movie that I mentioned a few times already, then you already know how the plot goes there. I will save my Mewtwo cards for my next Pokémon card collection post, I've got several more Mewtwo than I do Mes.

You have already seen a brief preview of my Mew cards, but I think now it is time that you get a closer look. I will provide an image, the card number, and the set to which it belongs. Also listed will be the average going price for these cards on the market. I am always open to selling my cards, but I am not in a rush to do so.
