This was a letdown 👎😔

After months of waiting, I finally got a chance to try a game that I have been pretty curious about. Biomutant was released back on May 25, 2021, and although I wanted to pick it up at launch, I held off until now. The reviews for this game have been nothing better than okay, so I didn't let my idea of the game get me too overly-hyped about it. There was no way I would be able to develop a real opinion about this game until I actually spent some time with it. I was warned by @derangedvisions that Biomutant was a shit game, but I still had the curiosity to see so for myself.

After playing for 3-4 hours, I just do not think Biomutant is for me. Although I love animals, colorful worlds, kung-fu, and RPGs, the game still feels stale to me. Let me briefly explain why through text, just watch my video if you want to hear me explain why I didn't like the game.

Pros:

• The animals look really cool.
• The kung-fu and samurai stuff is my kind of thing.
• Many unique abilities such as levitation, vomit, and all other sorts of crazy stuff.
• The music was pretty great.
• Peeing on posts like an animal to mark new fast travel locations is hilarious.
• Creative-looking mounts.
• Many different fighting styles and weapon types.

Cons:

• Low-resolution textures and underwhelming graphics.
• Too much pop when roaming around the world.
• Choppy framerates.
• Childish story.
• Dialogue is straight-up annoying.
• The combat doesn't feel good.
• The world is massive but mostly empty.
• An endless amount of fetch quests.
• The loot is terribly boring.
• Crafting was uninteresting.
• I hate the menus for upgrading skills.

I don't have much good to say about Biomutant. It was nowhere near as fun as I was hoping it would be. Luckily I purchased the game for only $20 used at Gamestop and I have already taken it back and received a full refund for it. I had stopped buying physical games over the last few years, but Gamestop's return policy is opening up the opportunity for me to try lots of new games with very little risk.

This will be my only Biomutant video since I don't think the game is worth sharing gameplay of. I will have one other Biomutant post that will be a collection of the photos that I took in the very basic photo mode. After that, no more Biomutant content from me.
