Rejoicing in patient waiting || Regocijo en la espera paciente

Even when we are waiting for the fulfillment of the word of God we can do it with joy and rejoicing.
14 Sing, O daughter of Zion; shout for joy, O Israel; rejoice and be glad with all your heart, daughter of Jerusalem. 16 At that time it will be said to Jerusalem: Do not be afraid; Zion, do not let your hands weaken. 17 The Lord is in your midst, mighty, he will save; He will rejoice over you with joy, he will be silent in love, he will rejoice over you with songs.
Zephaniah 3:14, 16, 17
Zephaniah had a task that we can consider a very difficult one, which consisted of communicating to Judah the bad news that came as a result of his sins of idolatry. He was at the door on the day of judgment. Not only would God judge his enemies. It would also affect the nation he loved dearly.
But just like the message of the rest of the prophets Zephaniah promises that a time of renewal would come, even in the midst of bad news for the people, God invites them to rejoice despite the moment of suffering that would live, Zephaniah makes this call for them to rejoice in fidelity to God. Whatever they face, they should always keep in mind that God will be with them, even when their enemies are standing and feel that God has abandoned them. He reminds them of the following: "God is a victorious warrior who will always be with you and rejoice with you."
We can bring this picture to the present time, it also applies to our lives, we are waiting in a world of decadence for the coming of our Lord, everything will be restored, a new city for us. Just as it is written we must run this race with perseverance, faithfully. Our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest example of perseverance, he suffered death on a cross but he saw something that motivated him, he saw that glorious future: "the joy set before him." It is not the situation we are experiencing, it is the glorious future that awaits us if we endure, if we persevere, we must always rejoice.
2 fixing your eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.

Aún cuando estamos en la espera del cumplimiento de la palabra de Dios podemos hacerlo con gozo y regocijo.
14 Canta, oh hija de Sion; da voces de júbilo, oh Israel; gózate y regocíjate de todo corazón, hija de Jerusalén. 16 En aquel tiempo se dirá a Jerusalén: No temas; Sion, no se debiliten tus manos. 17 Jehová está en medio de ti, poderoso, él salvará; se gozará sobre ti con alegría, callará de amor, se regocijará sobre ti con cánticos.
Sofonías 3.14, 16, 17
Sofonías tenía una tarea que podemos considerar una muy difícil que consistía en comunicar a Judá las malas noticias que provenían como resultado de sus pecados de idolatría, estaba a la puerta el día del juicio, no solamente Dios juzgaría a sus enemigos también afectaría a la nación a la que amaba mucho.
Pero al igual que el mensaje del resto de los profetas Sofonías promete que vendría un tiempo de renuevo, aún en medio de las malas noticias para el pueblo Dios, les invita a que se alegren a pesar del momento de sufrimiento que viviría, Sofonías hace este llamado para que se alegren en fidelidad a Dios, enfrenten a lo que se enfrenten siempre deberían tener presente que Dios estará con ellos, aún cuando sus enemigos estén de pie y sientan qué Dios les ha abandonado le recuerda lo siguiente: "Dios es un guerrero victorioso que siempre estará con ustedes y con ustedes regocijará".
Este cuadro podemos traerlo al tiempo presente, se aplica también en nuestra vida, nosotros estamos esperando en un mundo de decadencia la venida de nuestro señor, todo será restaurado, una ciudad nueva para para nosotros. Así como está escrito debemos correr esta carrera con perseverancia, fielmente. Nuestro Señor Jesucristo es el mayor ejemplo de perseverancia, sufrió muerte de cruz pero vio algo que le motivo, vio ese futuro glorioso: "el gozo puesto delante de él". No es la situación que estamos viviendo, es el futuro glorioso que nos aguarda si soportamos, si perseveramos, debemos regocijarnos siempre.
2 puestos los ojos en Jesús, el autor y consumador de la fe, el cual por el gozo puesto delante de él sufrió la cruz, menospreciando el oprobio, y se sentó a la diestra del trono de Dios.
Hebreos 12:2
