Árboles vestidos de ganchillo // Crocheted trees
Las calles del centro de Algeciras han quedado desérticas por la crisis generada por la cuarentena y el encierro de los vecinos por miedo al coronavirus. Poco a poco los negocios han ido cerrando y calles que antes había un bullicio de la cantidad de vecinos paseando y comprando, ahora quedan los bancos vacíos y las persianas de las tiendas cerradas. A todo esto los que han ganado algo de esta situación son los árboles de la calle que no sufren roces ni golpes que antes posiblemente se llevaban. Para hacer más llamativas las calles del centro, algunas vecinas han llevado a cabo la idea de vestir los cítricos con telas hechas con ganchillo.
The streets of the centre of Algeciras have become deserted due to the crisis generated by the quarantine and the confinement of the neighbours for fear of the coronavirus. Little by little the businesses have been closing and streets that used to be bustling with the amount of locals strolling and shopping, now the benches are empty and the shutters of the shops are closed. In addition, the trees in the street have gained something from this situation, as they no longer suffer the rubbing and knocks that they might have suffered before. In order to make the streets in the centre more attractive, some residents have come up with the idea of dressing the citrus trees with crocheted fabrics.
También han creado algunos murales de aves más el buen trabajo de los jardineros de la ciudad queda unas calles muy bonitas y elegantes. Agrada pasear por ellas y visitar el centro de la ciudad.
They have also created some bird murals plus the good work of the city's gardeners has resulted in some very pretty and elegant streets. It is nice to walk through them and visit the city centre.
Las calles están limpias y los edificios clásicos tienen sus fachadas muy arregladas que es otro motivo para visitar el centro de la ciudad.
The streets are clean and the classic buildings have their façades well groomed, which is another reason to visit the city centre.
Esperemos que vuelva todo a la normalidad y la gente salga a comprar ahora que estamos vacunados y las tiendas abran avanzando aunque sea poco a poco.
Hopefully everything will be back to normal and people will go out to shop now that we are vaccinated and the shops will open again, albeit slowly.
