The mysterious home of the famous poet, where innumerable loves are mixed.
Childhood is our best time. We can't forget this childhood even if we want to. I can't escape from it even if I want to. This * "Madhupalli" * is a house surrounded by such a childhood.
It is the home of Michael Madhusudan Dutt, the famous "writer" of Bangladesh and the founder of Bengali "sonnet". Numerous famous books of poetry have been composed from here. Home of Michael Madhusud Dutt, rich in various ancient installations and poetic memories. You have to enter Madhupalli through the main gate made in the shape of a cottage. In front is the bust of the poet. Inside, the poet's home is now a museum. On October 26, 1985, the government declared the house an antiquity.

All about Michael Madhusudan Dutt:
Michael Madhusudan Dutt is one of the best Bengali poets and playwrights and comedians of the nineteenth century. Madhusudan Dutt is considered to be one of the pioneers of Bengali renaissance literature. He is also known as the first rebellious poet of modern Bengali literature so he is called Michael Madhusudan Dutta, the son of Damal of Banga Bharati.
Madhusudan was born on 25th January 1824 in Sagardari village of Jessore district.

Michael Madhusudan's father Rajnarayan Dutt was a lawyer. Madhusudan's mother Jahnavidevi was an educated woman. Madhusudan studied with his mother till he was about seven years old. Michael Madhusudan Dutt came to Kolkata at the age of seven. He came here and studied in Khidirpur school for the first two years. In 1833 he was admitted to the Hindu College. Madhusudan was a very gifted student. He received a scholarship every year for school examinations.
While in college, Madhusudan won a gold medal in an essay competition. From that time Madhusudan used to write poems in English.
These poems were published in English newspapers of that time.
Michael Madhusudan Dutt married Henrietta, a French woman, and wrote many English poems.

He wrote sonnet lyric poems and short stories under the pseudonym Timothy Penpoem. Two long poems, The Visions of the Past, The Cap tive Lady, were first published together in book form from Madras in 1849. But could not gain a reputation. Finally Madhusudan returned to Kolkata . Arriving in Kolkata, he wrote many plays, poems and poems in Bengal. Of these, Meghnadabadh Kavya is the best.

He did not achieve fame in his France life. And sitting on the bill always reminded him of this house. He would get upset.

Then he would sit and write poems remembering the shores of his motherland Sagardari. This village was like his heartbeat.

The river Kopotaksh comes first to think of Michael Madhusudan Dutt's . Because the house of the poet is on the bank of this river which is directly connected to the Bay of Bengal. After the poet left the country in anger with his father, he came back to the river bank and the boat he had sunk, this river is a coop.

That memorial 'ghat' of the river is still there. However, the flow of the river associated with the poet's memory is no more. Most of the rivers are currently fish farming projects. The river has lost its heritage in the hands of the occupiers. However, the house of the poet has been preserved by the special initiative of the government. District bungalows of the district council, Sagdari tourist center, Madhusudan museum etc. have been built around Madhusudan. There are also almond trees and farewell ghats entangled with the memory of the poet next to the dovecote.

The Madhusudan Museum has been established in this house with some furniture and various memorabilia used by Madhusudan's family. Surrounded by a wall, there is a dighi on the west side of the house inside. The poet used to bathe in the ghat of Dighi, which has been preserved.
It is known that when the poet and his family came to Sagardari in 182, his relatives did not allow him to go home as he had converted. He pitched a tent under a juniper tree on the banks of the Kopotaksh River and stayed there for 14 days.

Unsuccessfully, he walked along the arrow of Kopotaksh and boarded the barge towards Kolkata from Bidayaghat. After that he did not return to the country.
I was sitting on the beach that day remembering this famous poet. I was writing some of my thoughts in the notebook: -
The shores of the seashore, the honey is yours, the memorial ceremonies are yours,
See you someday, I'll never be alone again,
I will have your immortal poetry in my hand, books of your hand "🖤

Although he was the son of a Landlord , he was unable to take care of his sick wife in his last life. In 1873, he was suffering from a terminal illness in his wife's bedside room at Henry Road, Calcutta. Before his death he took shelter in a charitable hospital in Alipur. Three days after his wife's death, on Sunday, June 29, 1873, at two o'clock in the afternoon, the hard struggle of this very talented poet came to an end.

Ending with the last part of his most beautiful poem:
Where is the immortal?
When is the eternal blue, alas, life-river?
