Hello music lovers and welcome in our last third day of #a-zmusic challenge started some time ago by @psos. For the DAY X you had to wait some Xtra-long time. Delayed for two days, we are striking with two very underrated artists

XOSAR

Sheela Rahman, American producer located in Berlin and strongly connected with The Netherlands scene through her deep passionate devotion for hardware and analogue sounds of vintage Casio keyboards, outer realms, dystopian sci-fi, twisted rhythms, exorcisms, dark rituals, odd melodies and rough alien techno. True Dutch West Coast style. Since bursting onto the scene with creepy deep nagging house 12" releases for L.I.E.S., Rush Hour, Crème Organization and obviously my favorite Pinkman, her music went through metamorphosis into more demonic and introspective, regularly haunting the darkest and dustiest basements all around the world. I will remember for a long time the day that I met the bewildering, emotionally disordered fever-dream Xosar's audio experience for the first time. It was 2nd November 2019 during Bunker Records Night @ PIP Den Haag, which blew me away so much, that her music absorbed me completely for next long weeks. Hypnotizing, unexpecting, completely bizarre, eccentric. Unfortunately I do not have any recordings from that night but believe me, this was literally next level shit. For the proper introduction, please check her majesty sounds released via Pinkman records below and in case of increasing curiosity for more interesting stuff and sounds, please check large interview with Xosar on Resident Advisor.

XPLODING PLASTIX

Norwegian big beat/acid/future jazz duo founded by Jens Petter Nilsen and Hallvard Wennersberg Hagen in 2000. I have found them completely randomly, digging through last.fm, motivated by my short fascination in acid jazz approximately two decades ago. Guys have released three long play albums and then shifted their interest into movies music production, where they stayed up to this day. Short carrier on the stage doesn't exactly mean that they went through this world without any significant success. Song presented in this article became an instant classic quickly after its releasing and was releasing many times on different ocassions and albums.

triphop from middle east ? sounds pretty dope. to be honest, I only knew one song from Muslimgauze, or even not his track but remix, and based on this one, I always thought that he is more into club music, lol ;p

not sure what d'you hide under this adjective, "dope". google says there are different meanings. silly? narcotic?
anyway, sorry for the late reply, just a lot of other comments piled over yours. but the answer came to me immediately on that day as I read your comment:
— triphop from middle east ?
— no, industrial from Manchester!
this is on one hand a joke but 100% true on another hand. club music? hahah! nope. during his career, from 1983 to Jan.1999, he drifted as an artist and his music have changed. he is considered and generally often labelled as 'industrial' tho I dont like it, theres nothing to it, no eccence in this label, really. the peak of his creativity (to me, to my taste) is 1993-1995. if you enjoyed (at least a bit) that track enpough to dig up into this name, i can list some sufficient albums. he deserves some serious attention, but the number of his releases is TERRIFIC, and there is pretty much slam among the releases... personally I am not into the ambient and skip almost all of his ambient LPs (except a few one)...

also in case you do not know, its just one man, Bryn Jones that stands behind this project. the remix you dropped a link, to me is unlistenable :/ @cubapl, all the best!

Hey @qwerrie,

sorry for late answer but for the last week I was deep in the forest, disconnected from the internet. It is my first connected day again. After your post I checked wikipedia to get a quick info about Muslimgauze and honestly I am surprised with the size of his discography. I will have to sit down in the upcoming days and explore those albums a bit more and then I will come back to you, leaving a wider opinion in the comment section under your latest post.
Track that I've send to you was recommended to me by the DJ/music promotor who showed me this one some time ago, without giving any wider info about this project. I didn't even know that Bryn Jones, founder of Muslimgauze died in 1999.

no problems! I live all the summer at the village, my connection is not great too.
and we are not limited in our playlists to living now, contemporary-authors, right? Staalplaat and some other label reissue a lot of LPs, issue piles of unreleased stuff, compile different mixes into 'better' editions, etc etc etc. due to that his discography is rather complicated... and its huge cause he really spent his life in the studio, and recorded a lot (and performed no live gigs).

Sticking to the freshest and newest artists or considering tracks released in April as "old" is not really my thing. I am trying to follow everything, to have as wide musical knowledge as possible.
Could you suggest me from which album I suppose to start checking him ? From the beginning or is there something really outstanding, like a game-changer for the whole industry

no, beginning is boring.

if you are into the 'noise' - he has a cool LP 'Azzazins'
personally, I value a lot the 'arabic scent and texture' in his music. in this key, definitely the best are 'Izlamaphobia' double LP, and 'Farouk Engineer'.
as I spending my holidays not at home, I cant give more detailed list with genres and release dates, but maybe two LPs are enough to start? I have a compilation of his tracks uploaded to a filesharing service as well. you may chew the certain tracks from different albums (the creem), just what is up to you, what works best for you. as for me, I prefer to go thru all albums only when I feel hoked and I feel I resnate with a certain artist.

after extended lecture in my motherlanguage about bio of Muslimgauze, I realized that until now I knew shit about this guy. Then I moved into more international section about recommendation and I am going to start with it right now. Obviously I will also check your recommendation, especially that Azzazins is also on the list mentioned below

the music pie that we have today, is endless, and grows non-stop. and its terrificly available, which perhaps is not such a good thing. you don't have to overcome any resistance to get what you want - just reach out .. download .. and that's it. not a few lives will be enough to get acquainted with it all.
I mean, dig into what you really love. and find where your real love lies, right? Muslimgauze is one of the 'whales' I am standing on. (and there are a few others as well. I was lucky to find them one day!) cheerio.
