Pink Woman Glitter and Gold General Greeting Birthday Card (1).png

It is another month, which means a new contest from the cross cultrue community. As you know, we offer a delegation prize of 4000 Hive to the winners selected after the end of the contest, the same also applies to this contest. So let's move to the contest topic of the month.

Every culture have a way of welcoming a new child to the world, in which there is always this uniqueness in the celebration of every culture. So this contest, would like you to reflect on the arrival of a new child.

The main point here is to share how a new child is being celebrated or welcomed to the world in your culture. It would also be great to know how names is being chosen and given to the child in your culture.

Ahaa! Wonderful topic. Arrival of kids in our lives is an amazing event and we all celebrate it one way or the other. I would love to read how other cultures celebrate the incidence. I will also write about mine ☺

This is the first time I have heard about getting laid off by those who are going to meet the boy. Here when going to meet the child it must be taken into account that the child cannot be carried if the woman is pregnant, this would give the child pushes (proven), the difficult thing is to know if the woman is pregnant because we never know until we feel that the child is pushing a lot. Another care is not to take the newborn out at night, this will make his stool turn green (proven), I do not know why this is due but it is very true if the child grabs night cereum. Thanks for sharing your myths friend @evegrace.

Wow, circumcision is something purely religious for us or for someone who wants to do it for aesthetics or some problem of the child. But it is not mandatory. Thank you for sharing your customs @mayorkeys

The indigenous people of my town have many beliefs, many of which we have come from there, but others have been discarded or changed by other cultures. The Baby Shower party is not ours, we adopt it from the English. Crying the child at birth and not at death is indigenous culture since they say that the child came to suffer in this land. A child is happy without having anything, only with the love of his parents he is satisfied. Thank you for sharing your beliefs and customs @dwixer

In my case, the name of my son is that of his father, the name of my two daughters was chosen by me, but the second name of the 2 is Isabel, my name. When my husband brought the girls' presentation slip, he told me: since you didn't tell me their middle names, I gave them yours hahaha. Luckily I adore my name and my daughters liked it too. Thank you for telling us your beliefs and your family stories @mercmarg

Saludos...

Wow, how many traditions and customs. In some cases they resemble each other, but they still seem incredible to us. We work on the bad eyes with a santero who prays them and pours holy water on them, only if the child gets sick to his stomach and cries a lot is this person taken away, which is done like a baptism before the baptism in the church. You must have godmothers of water, godmother of sail and two other godmothers to make the prayer to remove the evil eye of the child. Thank you for sharing your customs @projectmamabg

Wow, this is incredible. I have some more "traditions" which are for "the bad eyes" but they are not Christian. Our country has been formated from 3-4 tribes and there is something left from them for such occasions.
