Hey, you like Gung-fu? You like wall-running and gunning? You want more bullet-time in games? Well, this freaky hotchpotch of Mirror's Edge, Titanfall, Super Hot, and Ultrakill has got you covered. This hyper-paced parkour shooter plays out like a speedrun game. Where your reflexes, accuracy, and being nimble matters.

I was just blazing through a bunch of guys shooting pedestrian weapons, next I gotta dodge rockets, leapfrog over enemies with shields, take out guys who can fly, and so on. Had to fight to reach the exit for each level, each of them designed differently to provide all sorts of challenges and objectives.

I had quite a lot of fun playing this, it was a short trip but you don't get games like this often that mixes so many good genre of games we've known of over the past few years.

You play as Steel, a femme fatale assassin type that has to escape a facility with one of her left arm cut off. So she has no choice but to use a weapon without changing the magazines. She charges out of each level with her "killer" parkour skills.

After a 30 minute tutorial session, Steel goes off blasting guys, grabbing guns and getting out of dodge without a time to waste. Of course, the campaign mode doesn't have a timer in every level, so you can hop scotch and shoot as much as you please.

Gameplay is fast-paced, you have to quickly engage on the enemies while using the fluent stunt movement system for mobility. The game features unpredictable A.I., destructible voxel environments, and bullet-time. Later in the game, as you progress a bit, you get a blaster for your missing arm that not only blows enemies off but melts off objects and walls, providing more verticality. Ammo will run out so you'll pick the first gun you come close to, you can switch weapons too if you want. But you can only hold one gun at a time.

The gameplay is solid, weapons has good pin-point accuracy that even an entry-level gaming mouse can you help shots off. You can jump on a wall, then press kick to launch yourself off to a higher ground on the other way around. You can even dive, but not run over walls while doing so. You can do everythin but some of the moves have limitations, providing some nice challenges.

While you can smooth sail across all the levels, not everything works out that way. At times, jumping and wall running, you pull fast moves, sometimes you have to deal with the camera. Running over walls, when you hit another wall, tangent, the camera would seem obfuscated. Takes you a split second to fix out the vision obscurity.

Levels vary from large rooms to claustrophobic corriders, so you have to make use of whatever space you're given. Fortunately the level design doesn't always hamper the experience nor betrays the fundamentals it is meaning to follow.

The enemy A.I. are pretty unpredictable, especially in the later parts of the game where you deal with flamethrowers, ones with cloaking tech, jetpacks, guys with shotguns, I mean they might as well be adding ninjas too.

To get your joints titillating even more, the Firefight mode provides loads of challenges after playing and unlocking each mission from the campaign. Mutators are adjustments added to the game like turning weapons projectiles to paint balls, exploding enemies on melee attacks,

The level design is complex, changes up in different levels, the enemy A.I. can be difficult if you're not staying sharp. The game is letting you play as this one arm Neo, whose soul job is to kick ass. With an amazing soundtrack to boot that also elevates the adrenaline rush.

You can replay all this in Firefight mode, by completing the stages in the campaign. It's a short run, like 3-4hrs but there's good replayability thanks to adjustments you can make to keep you going for more. The campaign also has 5 difficulty settings to choose from.

Visually, this game is great and it doesn't consume your hardware much. I had no performance issues running this game, but do note that playing it with Unreal Engine 4 uncapped, you're bound to experience screen tearing pretty frequently.

It lets you play it however you want, heck you want to go pummeling enemies with just your foot, you can try doing that as well. It's open to all sorts of challenges you want to put yourself into. I've probably seen and played a game like this, but nothing this good that you get to play neon Aeon Flux with ridiculous verticality in levels.
