Hello Proof of Brain 🧠 community!

When last did you see the act of sleeping and waking up as a previllege and not a right, that you deserve.

My people who are more healthier than you do, have died just by sleeping the previous night like you did, but you made it and they didn't. To some it's a routine way of life and something that must happen. That's not true, sleeping and waking up is a previllege that none of us deserve.

I wonder why people threaten each other, when they can't guarantee their next breath. Are you aware that you're just a dead person that came back to life the next morning as you wake.

Today, I want to talk about gratitude and my focus will be on the 10 lepers, who Jesus Christ healed in Luke 17:11-19.

Luke 17:11-19
11 Now on his way to Jerusalem,(A) Jesus traveled along the border between Samaria and Galilee.(B) 12 As he was going into a village, ten men who had leprosy(C) met him. They stood at a distance(D) 13 and called out in a loud voice, “Jesus, Master,(E) have pity on us!”
14 When he saw them, he said, “Go, show yourselves to the priests.”(F) And as they went, they were cleansed.
15 One of them, when he saw he was healed, came back, praising God(G) in a loud voice. 16 He threw himself at Jesus’ feet and thanked him—and he was a Samaritan.(H)
17 Jesus asked, “Were not all ten cleansed? Where are the other nine? 18 Has no one returned to give praise to God except this foreigner?” 19 Then he said to him, “Rise and go; your faith has made you well.”(I)

Looking at the above scripture carefully, you would see that the attitude of the 9 lepers is just like must of us. Why I said so is because, we want to achieve great things, before we can say thank you to God for all he has done for us. Although, looking at the gravity of the miracle Jesus Christ performed on that day, it should've warranted the lepers to show gratitude for what he did for them.

The reverse becomes the case, and in like manner, many tend to ignore the many things we get for free on a daily basis.

What is Gratitude?

Gratitude is one of many positive emotions. It's about focusing on what's good in our lives and being thankful for the things we have. Gratitude is pausing to notice and appreciate the things that we often take for granted, like having a place to live, food, clean water, friends, family, even computer access.Source

I love this definition that brings in computer access to show the extent to which we should be grateful to God. I friend once told me that, it takes only miracle for the water you drink on a daily basis not to choke you or pass through the wrong channel. Many have been choked for just drinking water.

How can I developed a Heart of Gratitude

  • see every situation as a previllege and not a right.
  • don't wait for bigger blessings before you say thank you. Count your blessings (both great and small) and appreciate God for them all.
  • appreciate whether it's convenient or not. This means in season and out of season.

I'll end by saying, there's a good example for us to follow from the above story in Luke 17, always be like that grateful leper who came back to Jesus to say thank you. Thank you solves it all.

Thank you and God bless!
