He visto en muchas cocinas los cartones de huevos sobre los mesones o mesas, a pesar de que se recomienda guardar en la nevera. Quizá el consumo de huevos en esos hogares es mucho mayor que en el resto. También he oído que los reposteros prefieren tenerlos afuera en un lugar seco. La verdad es que se me ocurrió hacer la decoración de mi cartón para cuando desee dejarlos sobre el mesón. ¡Los invito a ver cómo lo hice!

I have seen in many kitchens the egg cartons on the countertops or tables, despite the fact that it is recommended to keep them in the refrigerator. Perhaps the consumption of eggs in those households is much higher than in the rest. I have also heard that confectioners prefer to keep them outside in a dry place. The truth is that I came up with the idea of decorating my carton for when I want to leave them on the counter. I invite you to see how I did it!

Para empezar déjenme decirles que escogí estos colores a falta de unos más alegres, pero también porque combinan con el color de la nevera y la cocina de mi casa.

LOS MATERIALES QUE USÉ SON:

🥚 Foami liso.
🥚 Tijeras.
🥚 Marcadores.
🥚 Pegamento.
🥚 Ojos plásticos movibles.
🥚 Palito de altura.
🥚 Cartón de huevo vacío.
🥚 Cordón cola de ratón.

To begin with let me tell you that I chose these colors for lack of more cheerful ones, but also because they match the color of the fridge and the kitchen in my house.

THE MATERIALS I USED ARE:

🥚 Smooth Foami.
🥚 Scissors.
🥚 Markers.
🥚 Glue.
🥚 Movable plastic eyes.
🥚 Egg stick.
🥚 Empty egg carton.
🥚 Mouse tail string.

EL PROCEDIMIENTO es muy sencillo. Lo primero que hice fue dibujar el molde de la gallinita. Asegurándome que fuera del tamaño apropiado para mi cartón, de ancho y de alto.

THE PROCEDURE is very simple. The first thing I did was to draw the mold of the little hen. I made sure it was the right size for my cardboard, in width and height.

Con el palito de altura marqué el dibujo de la gallina en el foami. Puyé sobre el papel donde dibujé, de esta forma iban quedando sobre el foami los puntos por donde iba a recortar. Esto lo hice para cada una de las partes de la gallinita. Luego recorté cada pieza.

With the height stick I marked the drawing of the hen on the foami. I cut on the paper where I drew, in this way the points where I was going to cut out were left on the foami. I did this for each of the parts of the hen. Then I cut out each piece.

Para hacerla más llamativa le dibujé bordes con marcador. También se puede hacer con pintura al frío. Si los marcadores no se les corre el color sobre el foami los podemos usar con tranquilidad. Además hice muchos puntos salteados en las alas de la gallina.

Después coloqué pegamento en cada pieza para proceder a pegar en su lugar correspondiente.

Elegí unos ojos móviles pequeños. Los pegué y dibujé las pestañas con marcador gris.

Para decorar hice un pequeño lazo con cordón cola de ratón color gris, lo pegué con silicón caliente.

To make it more eye-catching I drew borders with marker. It can also be done with cold paint. If the markers do not run the color on the foami we can use them with ease. I also did a lot of dotted dots on the wings of the hen.

Then I put glue on each piece to proceed to glue in place.

I chose some small movable eyes. I glued them and drew the eyelashes with gray marker.

To decorate, I made a small bow with gray mouse tail string and glued it with hot silicone.

Una vez que terminé la gallinita empecé a realizar la parte del borde simulando alguna grama, quería hacerlo de color verde, pero no tenía en ese momento.

Lo que hice fue cortar tres listones de 3 cm a todo lo largo de la hoja de foami. Luego corté triángulos en cada uno para lograr hacer las puntas.

Para estar segura de que alcanzaría, sujeté con algunos alfileres. Seguidamente con silicón caliente fui pegando por toda la orilla del cartón, dejando el espacio para colocar la gallina.

Once I finished the little hen I started to make the border part simulating some grass, I wanted to make it green, but I didn't have it at that moment.

What I did was to cut three 3 cm strips along the entire length of the foami sheet. Then I cut triangles in each one to make the ends.

To be sure that it would be enough, I fastened it with some pins. Then, using hot silicone, I glued all around the edge of the cardboard, leaving the space to place the chicken.

Me gusta mucho el resultado. Quería hacerlo desde hace un tiempo ya que tenía algunas hojas de foami guardadas. Estos materiales debemos usarlos rápido. Lamentablemente el foami se vence, al estar vencido se desmorona cuando empezamos a trabajar con él. Prefiero que se venza estando en uso decorando mi cartoncito de huevos. ¿Qué les parece esta idea? Podemos hacer para regalar a nuestras amigas y vecinas. También sería útil para exhibir los huevos en los negocios.

I really like the result. I wanted to do it for a while since I had some foami sheets saved. These materials must be used quickly. Unfortunately the foami expires, being expired it crumbles when we start working with it. I prefer to let it expire while it is being used to decorate my egg carton. What do you think of this idea? We can make them as gifts for our friends and neighbors. It would also be useful for displaying eggs in stores.
