Caught The Critter.
Hey everyone, my landlord loves covering his trees, much like masks they simply don't work and these pics are a testament to that, but some nice close ups were possible, well closer than usual anyways.
This little critter an avid fruit eater and considered to be a pest amongst most farmers the humble mousebird. It looks like a mouse but it flies.
The mousebirds are birds in the order Coliiformes. They are the sister group to the clade Eucavitaves, which includes the Leptosomiformes (the cuckoo roller), Trogoniformes (trogons), Bucerotiformes (hornbills and hoopoes), Piciformes (woodpeckers, toucans, and barbets) and Coraciformes (kingfishers, bee-eaters, rollers, motmots, and todies).[2] This group is now confined to sub-Saharan Africa, and it is the only bird order confined entirely to that continent, with the possible exception of turacos which are considered by some as the distinct order Musophagiformes, and the cuckoo roller, which is the only member of the order Leptosomiformes. Mousebirds had a wider range in the Paleogene, with a widespread distribution in Europe and North America during the Paleocene

I dont harm these or any birds at all, there was also a little pretty white eye, sadly he got out before I took any pics.
We have around 8 Persimmon trees and the birds get their fair share but there really is more than enough to go around for everyone.
Nature the incredible.
I trust you have a wonderful Thursday.
Love, light and blessings.
Cheer$;)
Yep, the persimmon usually gets much of the fruit wrecked by birds, however it also has plenty more to share. Very abundant!
Around here we get Jays, which do pretty much the same thing to the persimmon trees, but not as nimble and clever as these mousebirds appear to be.
Would you say the mousebirds are excellent climbers? Nets are pretty useless useless against climbers unless all the openings are tightly sealed.
Hey brother long time are you well? Not many folks know Persimmons I am well impressed. Yes mousebirds are very good climbers, many consider pests, but I like anything in nature and they are most welcome. Be blessed. Cheer$;)
