This is a weekly overview of my personal sports betting/trading results on teams from the Belgian Jupiler League documenting my journey toward long-term profit with some insights on my overall approach.

This season continues to be a major struggle and it doesn't look like this will end anytime soon. I already toned things down a lot and reduced my stake which helped me to avoid being down way more. At this point, I will likely continue this way hoping things will turn around and to see some overall improvements.

The way it looks, right now my style of 'value' betting is getting hard hits because 'overrated' favorites are covering all their heavy handicaps and goals come in bunches out of nowhere in matches that are completely dead. It's quite frustrating because I learned to stay away from 'winners' where the price simply doesn't have value while often going for more uncomfortable bets in underdogs or unders where the line just moved too much.

The way matches are playing out right now this way of betting simply has been without chance and the main question I have now is if this is just a temporary thing or if this will continue to be the norm. Overall it's clear that betting has become a lot more difficult that is for sure.

When things go bad it's always a good idea to zoom out and look at the bigger picture as I have been keeping stats with a chart for a longer period of time. This actually shows nothing out of the ordinary an I actually suffered more periods when there was downside like this. Given the fact that my stakes right now are on the low side it's actually a bit worse compared to what the chart shows but I got below what I generally expect to win and I will adjust my general profit expectation.

Regular Season 2023-2024 Personal Betting Chart

I have pretty much thrown all usual objectives out of the window in that I aim to make 10 units at least over the course of a seaon and do 10+ units of volume on average each week. Right now it's all about getting back the confidence that I actually have an edge while limiting the downside as much as possible. These periods are always inevitable as betting is never a straight line up. I already kind of am in piece for this to be my first real losing season unless I get on a crazy heater which also is always possible. One thing I'm glad about is that I still enjoy it and that thanks to my bankroll management I'm not getting in any kind of trouble anytime soon. Each week I also manage to press the mental reset button.
