Splinterlands | Cost-Average Buying My Chaos Legion Collection!

avatar

I continue to cost-average my way into buying Chaos Legion Cards in Splinterlands trying to get a competitive Set to compete in the Gold League Modern League. This is a report on the progress I have been making.

The value of Chaos Legion Cards continues to hold up quite well making Splinterlands in a way a nice hedge and diversification during this bear market. I am still cost-averaging my way into having a good Chaos Legion card collection with an eye on the upcoming Modern Format.

Chaos Legion Summoners

I want to have leveled up Summoners for all 6 classes and I managed to reach my max level for my 4th summoner (General Sloan). This leaves me with just Thaddius Brood of which I still need 22 copies (58$) to get it to level 5 and 3 more Legendary Quix The Devious (82$) to get this set complete!

I did sell a couple Tarsa cards to have funds for other cards and will likely do the same with the extra Kelya & Obsidian Summoners.

Obsidian4040100%
General Sloan4040100%

Quix The Devious3650%

I'm now 89% into getting all Chaos Legion Summoners to Level 5 compared to 81% a month ago (Link)

Newly Aquired Card

I continue to play the game looking for cards that are good enough (and affordable enough) to add to my collection cost-averaging my way into it. I'm

I wrote about the Scavo Firebolt in the post I made on Good Value Chaos Legion Cards and it was also part of the recent Share Your Battle Challenge. While right now it might not be the most useful when owning the Fire Demon. A single card when I bought cost 0.11$ which by now is up to 0.13$ or more.

I also got myself up to 20 copies of the Igor Darkspear card which right now I have not merged yet as there is just a lot more value in having them rented out of the market. I paid around an average 1.70$ price range while now the card is trading around 1.97$. I love the stats at level 4 with 2 ranged attack with the stun ability for just 2 mana and 3 speed. I did the same thing with the Legenadry cards which right now, I rather rent out instead of leveling them up and using them. It will likely be quite hard to eventually pull the trigger to merge them as it does destroy quite some value. An option may be to buy a discounted leveled up cards while selling the singles for more later down the line.

Next Buys

The cards I'm looking to accumulate the coming month ar the Thaddius Brood Summoner. Aside from those I really want some of the more powerful and expensive Epic or Rare Cards. The Grund which I currently own 8 ouf of 20 needed singles from and the Cursed Windeku which is a great alternative for the Haunted Spirit also caught my eye as I got crushed by it in one of my more recent matches. I currently have 16 out of 40 required cards to get it to level 5. I will bring another update on my journey next month...

Conclusion

I continue to really enjoy the collecting aspect of Splinterlands and I'm reinvesting my earnigs into getting specific Chaos Legion cards cost-averaging my way into them to complete my collection. If prices go up, it's nice to see the ones I have doing well, if they go down, it becomes cheaper to accumulate.

You're progressing quite fast on your summoners goal! Splinterlands has a bunch of loyal fans that refuse to sell out and keep on investing more and more (like me and you 😁).
That's the main reason why we've been holding the price quite well over the last few weeks.

Exactly and the crazy thing is that I have quite a lot of frustrations with the pay2win aspect of the game which makes me enjoy it a lot less compared to the potential I see in it. It certainly has something special and I see this loyalty from many players even when earnings were down a lot.
