The corner bets yesterday ended up winning and I got away also not losing money on a live Genk +0 bet as they should have always gotten a penalty against late in the match where their performance ended up as a disappointment. So luck at times is on my side. I hope it's not needed today on the 4 matches that will be played.
Kv Kortrijk vs Club Brugge
So Club Brugge seems to be more a team again now that De Mil took over the role of coach until the end of the season. They managed to take a 2-0 win over a poor Standard without playing that great themselves. They are in full fight for playoff 2 which means the 3 points are a must. Kv Kortriik continues to be in a pattern of putting up ok performances yet always losing or failing to take the win after 90 minutes. They also are without Selemani today who is considered their best and most important player. I do expect Kortrijk to put up a fight today and not make it easy for Club Brugge but over 90 minutes once again falling short most likely. This is a typical 1.6-1.7 away win odds match which I usually stay away from. The current 1.8 odds are also not enough to really pull me through pre-game and I rather wait and see how it goes possibly getting a live entry. In case Club Brugge would take the lead, I might take the live corners under. For now,
No Pre-Game Bets
Oostende vs Westerlo
Oostende is still in the relegation zone 3 points behind on Kortrijk and Eupen but there is a spark of hope as they have only lost 1 match out of their last 5. Their last home match turned into a surprise 3-0 win against Club Brugge and they had 3 draws against weaker teams Zulte, Charleroi, & Eupen. In that last match despite playing with 10 vs 11. Their coach aims to make it into dirty matches being really annoying to the opponent and most likely they will also try this today against Westerlo. The visitors took only 1 loss in their last 7 games and were without a chance in their last away match played vs Standard. Their overall form has been in a decline however but this also clearly reflects in the handicap line where they are only a slight favorite on the +0 Line. Westerlo is still the team with most quality and if my hand was forced, I would likely go with a high handicap and high odds on them as it remains a match against a relegation team which easily can end in a collapse of the weaker side. I'm also leaning toward the over given how open the match last week of Oostende was against Eupen ending in a 4-4 score. I don't have any reason to get in now and I'll wait for some confirmation in-game.
No Pre-Game Bets
Sint-Truiden vs Seraing
This is a matchup between the 2 teams in the league that by far manage to create the least chances. Over the last 5 matches combined, the expected goals of these teams is at a low 0.419 for each match! Stvv combines this with being solid defensively mostly during their matches even though they always make a mistake at some point while Seraing rarely gets less than 2 goals scored against them. Seraing has 64.7% of the goals in their away matches in the 1st half meaning opponents tend to have it easy taking the lead early on and not wasting much energy later on. In their last 8 matches, they only managed to get 2 1st half draws while losing all the others. Stvv is in no man's land with nothing to win or to lose and hasn't taken the 3 points in a while. 1.60 type odds aren't doing it for me and the only possible option is the 1H -0.25 line which I was only willing to take 0.1 unit on taking
Stvv 1H -0.25 @ 1.833 Seraing lost the corners in their last 2 away matches by 9-3 and 11-3 and if the match picture looks right I also might take some on Stvv 1H corner handicap.
Standard vs Zulte-Waregem
So Standard remains a strange team at times putting up crazy good performances while other times just being bad. If always feels like a big gamble to know what it will be and if they are going to maintain their level the entire match. Zulte-Waregem by now is one of the main relegation teams and they fail to put the needed performance ever since Vormer got injured. They tend to do well up until a certain point in the match where they collapse and give a bunch of goals away out of nowhere. Last week they lost 2-6 to AA Gent despite only having 1.12 expected goals against them. The week before was a 4-2 loss against Leuven with 2 expected goals against them. This 5 weeks before the end of the season got their coach fired and I fear it will be too late to cause a shock effect. I'm not sure what D’Hollander and De Fauw who are club icons that have no coaching experience will do. It's always possible that there is some kind of shock effect; but it will have to come along with one of those matches where Standard is not good making it a double gamble. So the only real option for me is to back Standard. New coached at relegation candidate teams mostly focus on setting the defense straight so I do expect a start of the match where motivation and initiative will fully be for Standard while The visitors try to keep things closed hoping to break out on a counter. Standard won the corners in their previous 3 home matches with 7-1 / 7-3 / 8-2 and also tend to win the 1st half corners by more than 1. I took 0.22 units on
Standard 1H Corners -0.5 @ 1.700 with an eye to take more at a higher handicap early in the match.
