Voolie

Voolie is super pretty.

You should consider this a very special privilege to be allowed to gaze upon her exquisite beauty.

Voolie is the wife of Melby. Or partner. Or mate. Or significant other. Whatever crows like to call it. I don't really know because I'm not exposed to this intimate part of their language. I only know the calls and body language that mean "Hi!" and "Feed me!" and "Get the hell offa my turf!" and "Hawk!" and "Shame! Shame! Shame on this cat!" and, lately, "Get the hell away from my baby!" Plus a few others.

I always thought Voolie was cute, but I never got to see her up close. She and Melby have fledglings, now, and it's a hell of a lot of work for them to keep those babies out of trouble and also finding enough food to feed said babies and themselves. So Voolie was willing to come a little closer today and let me get some portraits of her in exchange for a generous helping of free food.
