Today I wanted to share some of the food that I enjoyed recently!

Summer Foodie Friday

I'm not sure if everything can be considered "foodie" but I'm just going to go with it on this one lol. One of the things we obviously like to do as people in the world we live in now, is try out different foods! Food is one of the most interesting parts of life, so why not have a lot of fun with it?! I know we do!

On one of our recent trips to Maine, we were driving through the Ogunquit/York area on the coastline there, near Mount Agamenticus which is one of the smaller mountains in the New England region but is still a fun place to go. We have driven in this area a few times before and one of the things that one of our family members has always mentioned to us: "You HAVE to get one of Flo's hot dogs!!!". We laughed it off the first few times, thinking that it wasn't really something we would do since a hot dog is a hot dog.. but then we were on our way home and decided to say screw it, let's just stop since we are literally driving right by it lol

The business model of Flo's hot dogs is actually incredible and I'm sure they do pretty well!

The place is only open 11a-3p, essentially lunch hour. It's also only open Wednesday through Sunday I think it is lol. These people have better hours than bankers do! Too funny. It's also this tiny little thing as you can see here, with all outdoor seating and dining only. Nothing inside! I don't know if they had people eating and ordering inside prior to 2020 but with a building this size, they may or may not have. Don't know but we'll have to ask our family member that recommended the place.

So we got the hot dog and it was 4$ and some change for one hot dog! Damn that's expensive if you ask me. lol I'm not really sure what hot dogs cost nowadays as I only buy them from the grocery store and not really out anywhere but it seemed expensive.

The hot dogs were certainly okay if I had to give it a review. I like me a hot dog that's for sure but what we are really glad is that we didn't spend the day driving up just to get one of them lol. He recommended this to someone that came in from New York and I would be a little bit embarrassed to recommend something like this hahaha. The toppings were good that was the best part of it. They made some good combinations! I think if I do end up getting another one I will try the Sauerkraut one for sure! Gotta love some 'kraut!

We decided to go all out and top the day off. We got some Gelato! There are a few decent places around and this one was definitely a good one. Gelato is a bit different then traditional ice cream as we know it in America. The recipe to make gelato is much different! There is more fat in it which is great lol. Nothing compares to the gelato we indulged in when we were in Italy however this was still an excellent choice!

I went for Biscotti on top, canoli in the middle and cookie dough on the bottom. Damn was it delicious! Lol

Summertime is definitely a time of enjoyment of the many bounties of food around us. It's a struggle to not go overboard and indulge too much! Lol
