Today I wanted to chat a little bit about the improvement and fluctuation in curation rewards!

Periodically, I make it a point to pop over to HiveStats so that I can give things a look. It had been a couple months since the last time I looked at it so I figured it would be a decent thing to give it a look. I was pretty happy with what I was seeing as far as the improvements that have been coming for my stake!
Curation rewards are certainly one of the better things that occur when you increase your stake in the platform. It feels a little slow at first, when you're getting your first several hundred to several thousand Hive Power staked in the ecosystem but after a certain point, the curation rewards really start to pick up speed. These days, with getting closer to 28,000 Hive Power in my account, the curation rewards are really shaping up nicely, if I do say so myself! I took a screenshot back in early March I think it was, and I was shy of 27,000 Hive Power at the time. I was thinking that there was certainly some nice rewards coming in, but what was amusing was the random bump up to almost 8 HP in reward for one day. Not sure what went on that day lol
I took a look at it today, being the end of April where I'm now sitting closer to 28,000 and the rewards have really bumped up noticeably since just a month ago! I'm now over 6 HP per day, often getting closer to 7 HP and that's pretty awesome to see. What I also really noticed and laughed a little bit about was that for both the 7 day total and 30 day total, my curation rewards surpassed my author rewards! That's pretty darn cool, because when my posts don't get visited by the curators for a period of time (which is fine, can't expect the bennie's all the time lol) I can still rely on the handiwork of curation rewards to keep things moving upward at a good clip!
This has been pretty nice because I'm certainly noticing the outgoing votes have increased in their value slightly, with of course attention to the fluctuation in the 3 day Hive Price which then affects the monetary value of the vote (not the underlying Hive value of course, that remains constant in that it doesn't fluctuate with the changing prices, only with the changes in your Hive Power and the amount of voting power you've got from 100%.) and the more I'm able to stake and earn through curation and other means, the stronger that vote is going to get and it's going to be pretty nice to be dishing our dollar votes regularly! I know my stake is certainly a fair ways off from that end, but I'm creeping up there slowly but surely!
It's funny in a way, because I compare myself to others on here that I'm friends with and that have stake around mine. I'm trying to catch up to them as a little competition! I know it's not really necessary and largely doesn't affect my content, their ability to be my friend and all that. I haven't said anything to the ones I'm competing with hahaha but I have a few in mind that I'm getting a little close to! It's a little bit of a game or race, in that we are doing our best to engage here on Hive, post, and do all of the normal activities we've grown to love and enjoy but it's like when you're running with some friends. Every so often you look over at them and try to run a little faster than them to get ahead! It's just some friendly stuff and nothing serious but it's always a little nice to have something to go after, in terms of stake in this case.
I'm certainly enjoying seeing those numbers fluctuate ever so upwards, because it not only helps me out in the long run but it helps out all of the other people on here that I enjoy their content and support them with some votes! Sometimes I get a little lazy when I have voting power to burn and drop some heavier votes on people lol which I think is fun. Seeing that go up is always a good thing, where I can give them a nicer chunk of rewards little by little!

Curation is no joke like you've mentioned, however because I have a lot of people to curate, my voting power doesn't idle. You have some decent numbers there, overall the numbers grow when your numbers grow. It's one of the exciting things with having a stake
Haha ya I know, I never let my voting power get to 100% but I'm keeping it around 95% most days giving decent votes but not too many. I do sometimes go on a little spree and get it down to like 88 but for my voting strength right now that's a little low :D a few thousand more HP and I wouldn't mind that perhaps!
Glad that you've been able to maintain some good hive power so you can get out there and vote all kinds of stuff for curation rewards!
There would always be competition as long as other humans are involved. I like that you've set goals that you wish to reach and go beyond. Although we create our own luck, goodluck with your goals.
