Today I wanted to look back to last year for some older pictures I haven't posted yet!

Autumnal Monochrome Monday

Autumn, one of my favorite times of year! It's definitely one of my favorite times of year to go hiking that's for sure. My son and I went on a trip last autumn and I took a bunch of pictures but seems that I didn't do a good job of going through them and posting some LOL so I wanted to go back and see what I could find and get some posts out there!

The place that we went to on this hike I remember well. It was freaking COLD LOL. The temperature was cold but it was the wind that was the killer. It was blowing like crazy! We were pretty well dressed with gloves and all that but damn we were chilled when we were done that's for sure. It gave some beautiful pictures though, like this partially frozen ground! The look of the ice chunks was really cool I think, because you can see it forming but then the sun is melting it a little bit and it causes all kinds of chaos.

There was all kinds of these tracks around the place, I think they are multipurpose but mostly for the mountain bikers that enjoy to come to the area. They were crossing all kinds of creeks and stuff, making some pretty cool different paths that would otherwise be a little more difficult to walk on. When we first got to this spot, we saw a crew of mountain bikers coming in so that's why I figured that these wooden platforms are likely for them. I used to do some decent mountain biking when I was younger but only got to ride in a spot or two that had these platforms, they do certainly help make the track a bit easier to navigate lol riding around the rocks and trees and stuff is fun but it's nice to have a break of smoothness every once in a while.

There were a few cool little streams and frozen puddles dotting the area. I love taking these up close pictures of them, it provides for some interesting perspective! I am pretty happy with how the photos turned out when it comes to converting them into black and white. I love the deadfall leaves lying around but then the sharpness of the ice as it extends outward, pretty cool shot!

I'm going to see what other adventures from the little man and I that I haven't written about yet LOL I need to catch up, I'm slacking a little bit :D
