Hi fellow Hiveians,

Today I wanted to share some photos of a beautiful river that we got to visit recently!

Autumn Riverwalk

Rivers are definitely one of my favorite places to be around, even though sometimes they can be a little small, they have so many cool things to see and look at!

Recently when we went to Lake Winnepesaukee, one of the things that it's got quite a bit of is rivers that flow in and out of it. This little river here is one of the ones that flows out of it.

The Lake is pretty damn big, the biggest in the state of New Hampshire which means it's got quite a lot of water coming in and out of it. The mountains are not far away from here and the rivers feed into it in numerous spots. That also means that water is likely to be flowing out of it as well. This decent sized river here is on the southeastern portion of the lake.

What ended up being funny is that my wife ended up getting better pictures of the actual waterfall than I did! Lol. I didn't appreciate that since I was there to take some photos hahah but she's got a good eye and also a little more sense than I do, to explore the right areas! Still it was cool to get a snap or two of the water rushing down off the small waterfall that's there and into the lake.

As a fisherman though, what I can tell you is that I was really excited to see this! This is incredible for a fishing spot as the water is pretty strong in the current and that means that fish are likely to be at the bottom of it, and potentially good sized ones as they are more likely to spend the effort rather than the little ones!

We were fishing in this spot here for a bit. We didn't catch anything good but I think that may be because I wasn't throwing the right lures at them for them to be interested. When I had some of my first casts, I got some BIG bass that followed it but my retrieval was too fast or something because they followed it to see what was going on but neither of them gave it a sample to see if it tasted good. I was sad about that but I was happy to see some big ass fish!

The little man ended up catching a couple of his normal fish, some sunfish and a perch which was fine because getting something is better than nothing lol. It ended up being a really fun way to spend a little while before we were on our way. We leave the fishing poles in the trunk of the car now so that we are always ready for a few casts of the line!

While we were wrapping up though I knew that I had to walk around the bank a little bit and snap a few pictures of the beautiful trees they've got going here. The colors hit this area in peak when we were there which was nice. I think the area we are in now is at peak so it's funny to watch it cascade down from the northern parts and make it's way south as the autumn stretches on. I've enjoyed paying a bit more attention to it this year for whatever reason, maybe because the little man is all about going exploring!

The river here is definitely one that we are likely going to go back and pay a visit to in the spring when the fish are out and hungry as hell! Cold weather fishing is okay but not my favorite, especially if while I'm out there fishing nothing is going to be biting lol. These fish don't mind the cold so much but they also don't really go for the bait if it gets too cold so we won't spend the time driving up here until the springtime. What would be fun is to have a hotel or something nearby but sadly being the popular lake, things are insanely expensive! No thanks lol.

I would like to visit the northeast in the fall sometime and see those colors in person.

It's remarkable to say the least! I used to think it was a pretty boring area but not anymore, having kids exposes us to the wonders of the world I think, if you are attentive enough to foster a good curiosity in the kids! That and being on hive where people from around the world appreciate seeing New England makes me happy to live here for now!

I saw! That area sounds like it’s out in the Berkshire’s, I’ll look it up to see where that area is. Glad you were able to spend some time over here!
