Sure. Most of us are blind because we can see only what we have to see. That's how this world is working. Life is a fight.

If you are struggling to survive it is very difficult to see beyond your immediate needs because they are so demanding. I think Governments sometimes strategically make life more difficult for this reason. It also offers them an opportunity to play the hero later on.
