Si hace 5 años alguien hubiese predicho mi futuro jamás le habría creído. Feliz día, queridos mamis y papis lectores. Hoy quiero mostrarles un poco lo que han sido los 3 cumpleaños de mi pequeña princesa, Elizabeth Victoria.

Mi hija nació hace 3 inviernos, luego de dos días de intentos de inducción al parto sin resultado, por medio de una cesárea. 41 semanas y 1 día esperando conocerla y a las 12:15 horas de un miércoles, nació mi pequeña. Han sido tres años maravillosos y ella ha crecido fuerte, saludable, despierta, elocuente y hermosa. Ha sido más lo que he aprendido de ella que lo que yo le he enseñado, sorprendentemente, es que Elizabeth tiende a ser autodidacta. Le agradezco todos los días a Dios por su bondad y por mantenerme sana para criarla y guiarla.

If someone had predicted my future 5 years ago, I would never have believed them. Happy day, dear mommy and daddy readers. Today I want to show you a little bit about the 3 birthdays of my little princess, Elizabeth Victoria.

My daughter was born 3 winters ago, after two days of unsuccessful labor induction attempts, via cesarean section. 41 weeks and 1 day waiting to meet her and at 12:15 on a Wednesday, my little girl was born. It has been three wonderful years and she has grown strong, healthy, alert, articulate and beautiful. I have learned more from her than I have taught her, surprisingly, Elizabeth tends to be self-taught. I thank God every day for His goodness and for keeping me healthy to raise and guide her.

Les he mencionado que me gusta celebrar mis cumpleaños, este hábito lo cultive por mí hermana @gabiotabalbas (ella es la loca de los cumpleaños); y en cada cumpleaños de mi hija me he esforzado por hacer un día mágico para ella y para todos nosotros.

El primer año, a pesar de la pandemia, no íbamos a permitir que pasara por debajo de la mesa, así que escogimos un motivo "Elizabeth, reina de la nieve" y comencé a ver ideas en internet de qué podríamos hacer para decorar mi casita para su día especial. Ese año compré 150 globos, un mantel, mandé a hacer un banderín de feliz cumpleaños, unas letras con su nombre completo y una piñata de número 1 que dejé de adorno porque no soy muy amante de caerle a palos a una caja. A Elizabeth la vestí con un tutú hermoso y luego un vestido de princesa que me envió mi tía Orquídea. Alquilé un parque de plaza blanda para ella sola y nos reunimos mi familia, mis vecinos y los padrinos a festejarle el primer año de vida a mi niña.

I've mentioned that I like to celebrate my birthdays, this habit was cultivated by my sister @gabiotabalbas (she's the birthday freak); and on each of my daughter's birthdays I've strived to make it a magical day for her and for all of us.

The first year, despite the pandemic, we weren't going to let it go under the table, so we chose an "Elizabeth, Snow Queen" motif and I started looking online for ideas of what we could do to decorate my little house for her special day. That year I bought 150 balloons, a tablecloth, had a happy birthday banner made, some letters with her full name and a number 1 piñata that I left as a decoration because I'm not a big fan of beating the crap out of a box. I dressed Elizabeth in a beautiful tutu and then a princess dress that my Aunt Orchid sent me. I rented a soft playground for her and we gathered my family, neighbors and godparents to celebrate my little girl's first birthday.

Para el segundo año, un poco más libres y con mayor presupuesto, organicé con mi amiga Yusla para hacer la fiestecita en su casa, ella tiene un quincho y un patio bastante amplio que nos permitió tener algunos invitados extra y que los niños tuvieran espacio para divertirse en el parquecito que volví a pedir. Allí fueron unos 250 globos (sí, amo los globos), mi vecina Yuli me ayudó haciendo letras hermosas, modificando la decoración del año anterior, y entre una y otra cosa hicimos un cumpleaños espléndido de "La casa de los gatos". A pesar del mal clima y la terrible neblina que nos arropó ese domingo, todo fue maravilloso.

For the second year, a little freer and with a bigger budget, I organized with my friend Yusla to have the party at her house, she has a barbecue area and a big enough patio that allowed us to have some extra guests and that the children had space to have fun in the little park that I asked for again. There were about 250 balloons (yes, I love balloons), my neighbor Yuli helped me making beautiful letters, modifying the previous year's decoration, and between one thing and another we made a splendid birthday of "La casa de los gatos". Despite the bad weather and the terrible fog that enveloped us that Sunday, everything was wonderful.

Para este año pensamos en hacer algo diferente. Leal y yo planificamos ir a un parque de camas elásticas con ella y disfrutar. Sin embargo, las cosas no salieron como esperábamos; creí que lo mejor sería salir en familia y luego cantarle cumple con una torta sencilla en casa y pum... Me fracture la muñeca así que no hubo camas elásticas y como no planifiqué con tiempo, tampoco habría fiesta pero, adivinen qué; un abuelo (mi papá) dijo: "que no pase por debajo de la mesa" y me ayudó con los gastos entonces se pudo, hubo cumpleaños feliz después de todo. Y sé que no hace falta hacer una gran celebración para hacer un día perfecto, con estar juntos en familia basta pero la cara de mi hija diciendo que era una princesa, jugando con sus amiguitos, bailando con su vestido, emocionada con sus 200 globos, valió la pena cada centavo.

For this year we thought we would do something different. Leal and I planned to go to a trampoline park with her and enjoy ourselves. However, things didn't work out as we had hoped; I thought it would be best to go out as a family and then sing her birthday to her with a simple cake at home and bam.... I fractured my wrist so there was no trampoline and since I didn't plan ahead, there would be no party either but guess what; a grandfather (my dad) said, "don't let it go under the table" and helped me with the expenses so it worked out, there was a happy birthday after all. And I know it doesn't take a big celebration to make a perfect day, just being together as a family is enough but the look on my daughter's face saying she was a princess, playing with her little friends, dancing in her dress, excited with her 200 balloons, was worth every penny.

Ser mamá estos tres años ha sido el mayor reto de mi vida, nada ha sido fácil pero cada paso ha sido con fuerza y me siento victoriosa. Agradezco a cada persona que ha estado y participado en este camino. Mi equipo, mi amor Leal, siempre diciendo sí a cada una de mis ideas, mi familia, su familia que también es mía, la hermandad que hice aquí con mis vecinos, la amistad incondicional con mis amigas mamás, la madrina que ha estado con nosotros desde el inicio. La verdad es que mi hija es afortunada creciendo feliz rodeada de tantas personas maravillosas yo estaré para siempre agradecida con Dios por todo y por todos.

Being a mom these three years has been the biggest challenge of my life, nothing has been easy but every step has been with strength and I feel victorious. I thank each person who has been and participated in this journey. My team, my Loyal love, always saying yes to each of my ideas, my family, her family that is also mine, the sisterhood I made here with my neighbors, the unconditional friendship with my mom friends, the godmother who has been with us from the beginning. The truth is that my daughter is fortunate to grow up happy surrounded by so many wonderful people and I will be forever grateful to God for everything and everyone.
