After Marik's defeat at the hands of the Pharaoh the main story takes a more interesting turn, now Yugi possesses the three cards of the Egyptian gods and all the millennium items, plus the secret knowledge that had been kept for thousands of years by the tomb keepers: How to release the Pharaoh's power and recover his memory.

However, in this last season a major question arises, which is revealed later, and it is about the true name of the pharaoh, which he himself had sealed for a greater purpose. The author saved the best for last, and I must say that I have seen many anime with good stories, but the one presented in Yugioh is on a higher level, a plot full of mysteries that was developed in a masterful way, where little by little it was revealed without losing any sense or details.

In this last adventure the Pharaoh must return to Egypt, and look for Ishizu to take him to the scriptural tablet shown in previous seasons, once there together with the articles of the millennium and the letters of the gods he can release his power, or at least open the way to it; a path that not only he was looking for but someone else, a stealthy enemy that is present since the first season, and is the spirit that inhabits the millennium ring, which has Bakura, one of Yugi's friends, who honestly is one of the characters that I like the most in the whole series, because he had a very good development and personality.

Bakura, the king of thieves

One of the things that caused me some intrigue in the previous season, were the words of this character when he lost his duel against Marik and was sent to the kingdom of shadows, at that moment he said that he was the darkness itself and that he would soon return, words that in this part of the story would regain all its meaning, since Bakura himself is none other than the King, creator and ruler of the kingdom of shadows, the place where the souls of the losers in the duels went.

Once his spirit was released by Yugi when he defeated Marik, this character continued his quest to obtain the 7 items of the millennium, but getting them in the present era would not do him much good, which is why he was hatching a truly dark plan, and this would take place when Yugi opened the door to the Pharaoh's past memories.

When this happens, we see Bakura in his original form of 5000 years ago, and this time more powerful than ever, now he has the strength to fight face to face and even defeat the official court of the Pharaoh and achieve his final task, that the kingdom of shadows devour the present world and its power is unlimited.

Seto, a priest with a great sense of justice

In previous seasons we were revealed part of Kaiba's past, but in the memories of the king of Egypt we can see this ancient character in all his splendor, he is a royal priest who serves the pharaoh at the cost of his own life, a virtue that is praised by the pharaoh himself, who wishes that Kaiba can see how his ancestor fought alongside him and not against him as he does in the present.

Seto being part of the royal court has in his power the Millennium Scepter and a powerful beast that helps him in battles, he is an excellent strategist and sorcerer, his combat skills are very good, and he is the one who shows greater resistance when facing Bakura, one of his characteristics is that he never loses his calm, and always knows what to do in the face of adversity.

We can also observe a virtue very opposite to that shown by Kaiba, and is his merciful and compassionate side, although his hand does not tremble to execute his justice to evildoers, Seto also risks his life to save other people, and this in the end has its retribution, one of the people who he saved many years ago helps him later giving his life for him, and after that gives him the power to control the powerful blue-eyed Dragon.

The Great Pharaoh

We come to the main character of this story, the Pharaoh himself, a man who sealed his soul in the millennium puzzle 5000 years ago, and who is trying to remember his past and save the world from the true darkness, a darkness that was also sealed back then, and here is where he reveals to us the great unknown of our protagonist's name. It turns out that when he sealed his soul and that of his main enemy, his name became the key to do so, but now this same key is the key for his own power to be released so he can win in this final battle.

It is interesting to see how the Pharaoh maintains his great personality in the midst of difficulties, an aspect well kept by the author, as well as highlighting other virtues in a purer way than we had seen before. Perhaps its creator wanted to show through this anime a humanitarian side that was little known in the royal Egyptian pharaohs, a very personal vision of how a ruler should be.

In this part of the story we can see how the pharaoh tightens his bonds of friendship with his royal servants, as well as the love for his people, besides that we will know why the Dark Magician is his favorite card in the present and many more things, among them, that despite being very strong in battles, without his friends he could not get the victory.

Final thoughts

At this point, I have no choice but to have that feeling of nostalgia for having finished watching this masterpiece, really my children and I enjoyed it very much, even my wife was encouraged to see a few chapters and she liked it. That's why I encourage you to watch it as a family, I'm sure you will enjoy it.

Now, talking about the series itself, my particular opinion is that it totally covered my expectations, I'm usually very demanding to see something, but with Yugioh I have to take my hat off, its story is excellent from beginning to end, the filler is not much, all series have it and need it, but in this one the filler served to develop unknown aspects of other characters and also of the main character.

Finally, this last season reveals so much, that any enigma left in the previous ones are solved here, the final battle between the master of the shadow game and the king of the games with the fate of the world as a prize is spectacular, I was really surprised by the jump in quality, I did not expect so much the truth, and how the author closes his story was the best way to put an end, no one can complain, because everything ended as it should be, with suspense, pain, sadness, love, and happiness.

Yugioh: El Nombre del Faraón y el último juego de las Sombras // Temporada final

Luego de la derrota de Marik a manos del faraón la historia principal toma un giro más interesante, ahora Yugi posee las tres cartas de los dioses egipcios y todos los artículos del milenio, además del conocimiento secreto que había sido guardado miles de años por los cuida tumbas: Como liberar el poder del faraón y recuperar su memoria.

Sin embargo, en esta última temporada surge una interrogante mayor, la cual es revelada más adelante, y se trata del verdadero nombre del faraón, el cual el mismo había sellado con un propósito mayor. El autor se guardó lo mejor para el final, y debo decir que he visto muchos animes con buenas historias, pero la presentada en Yugioh se encuentra en un escalón más alto, una trama llena de misterios que fue desarrollada de forma magistral, donde poco a poco se iba revelando sin perder ningún sentido ni detalles.

En esta última aventura el Faraón debe regresar a Egipto, y buscar a Ishizu para que lo lleve hasta la tabla escritural que se nos muestra en las temporadas anteriores, una vez allí juntamente con los artículos del milenio y las cartas de los dioses podrá liberar su poder, o por lo menos abrir el camino hacia él; un camino que no solo el buscaba sino alguien más, un enemigo sigiloso que está presente desde la primera temporada, y es el espíritu que habita en la sortija del milenio, la cual posee Bakura, uno de los amigos de Yugi, quien honestamente es uno de los personajes que más me gusta en toda la serie, debido a que tuvo un muy buen desarrollo y personalidad.

Bakura, el rey de los ladrones

Una de las cosas que me causo algo de intriga en la temporada anterior, fueron las palabras de este personaje cuando perdió su duelo contra Marik y fue enviado al reino de las sombras, en ese momento dijo que él era la oscuridad misma y que pronto volvería, unas palabras que en esta parte de la historia recobrarían todo su sentido, ya que el mismo Bakura no es otro que el Rey, creador y gobernante del reino de las sombras, el lugar donde iban las almas de los perdedores en los duelos.

Una vez liberado su espíritu por Yugi cuando derroto a Marik, este personaje continuo en su búsqueda por obtener los 7 artículos del milenio, pero conseguirlos en la era presente no le serviría de mucho, razón por la cual estaba maquinando un plan verdaderamente tenebroso, y este tendría lugar en el momento que Yugi abriera la puerta hacia las memorias pasadas del Faraón.

Cuando esto ocurre, vemos a Bakura en su forma original de hace 5000 años, y esta vez más poderoso que nunca, ahora tiene la fuerza necesaria para combatir cara a cara e inclusive derrotar a la corte oficial del faraón y lograr su cometido final, que el reino de las sombras devore el mundo presente y su poder sea ilimitado.

Seto, un sacerdote con gran sentido de justicia

En las temporadas anteriores se nos revelo parte del pasado de Kaiba, pero en las memorias del rey de Egipto podemos ver a este personaje antiguo en todo su esplendor, es un sacerdote real que sirve al faraón a costa de su propia vida, una virtud que es alabada por el mismo faraón, quien desea que Kaiba pueda ver como su ancestro luchaba junto a él y no en su contra como lo hace en el presente.

Seto siendo parte de la corte real tiene en su poder el Cetro del milenio y una bestia poderosa que lo ayuda en las batallas, es un excelente estratega y hechicero, sus habilidades en combate son muy buenas, y es el quien muestra una mayor resistencia al enfrentarse a Bakura, una de sus características es que jamás pierde la calma, y siempre sabe qué hacer en frente de las adversidades.

Tambien podemos observar una virtud muy opuesta a lo mostrado por Kaiba, y es su lado misericordioso y compasivo, a pesar de que no le tiembla la mano para ejecutar su justicia a los malhechores, Seto también arriesga su vida para salvar a otras personas, y esto al final tiene su retribución, una de las personas a quien el salvo hace muchos años le ayuda más adelante dando su vida por él, y luego de eso le otorga el poder de controlar al poderoso Dragón de ojos azules.

El gran Faraón

Llegamos al personaje principal de esta historia, el faraón mismo, un hombre que sello su alma en el rompecabezas del milenio hace 5000 años, y que está tratando de recordar su pasado y salvar al mundo de la verdadera oscuridad, una oscuridad que también fue sellada en aquel entonces, y aquí es donde nos revela la gran incógnita del nombre de nuestro protagonista. Resulta que cuando sello su alma y la de su enemigo principal, su nombre se convirtió en la llave para hacerlo, pero ahora esta misma llave es la clave para que su propio poder sea liberado y asi pueda vencer en esta batalla final.

Es interesante ver como el Faraón mantiene su gran personalidad en medio de las dificultades, un aspecto bien guardado por el autor, asi como también resaltan otras virtudes de una forma más pura que como la habíamos visto anteriormente. Quizás su creador quiso mostrar por medio de este anime un lado humanitario que poco se conoció en los faraones reales egipcios, una visión muy personal de cómo debería ser un gobernante.

En esta parte de la historia podemos ver como el faraón estrecha sus lazos de amistad con sus servidores reales, asi como también el amor por su gente, además de eso conoceremos porque el Mago Oscuro es su carta favorita en el presente y muchas cosas más, entre ellas, que a pesar de ser muy fuerte en las batallas, sin sus amigos no podría obtener la victoria.

Pensamientos finales

Al llegar a este punto, no me queda de otra que tener ese sentimiento de nostalgia por haber terminado de ver esta obra maestra, de verdad que mis hijos y yo la disfrutamos mucho, incluso mi esposa se animó a ver unos capítulos y le gusto. Razón por la cual te animo a verla en familia, seguro que la disfrutaran.

Ahora bien, hablando de la serie en sí, mi opinión particular es que cubrió mis expectativas totalmente, suelo ser muy exigente para ver algo, pero con Yugioh no me queda de otra que quitarme el sombrero, su historia es excelente de principio a fin, el relleno no es mucho, todas las series lo tienen y lo necesitan, pero en esta el relleno sirvió para desarrollar aspectos no conocidos de otros personajes y también del protagonista.

Por último, esta ultima temporada revela tanto, que cualquier enigma dejado en las anteriores se resuelven aquí, la batalla final entre el amo del juego de las sombras y el rey de los juegos con el destino del mundo como premio es espectacular, de verdad que me sorprendió el salto de calidad, no me esperaba tanto, y como el autor cierra su historia fue la mejor manera de ponerle punto y final, nadie se puede quejar, pues todo termino como tenía que ser, con suspenso, dolor, tristeza, amor, y felicidad
