Tekkadan is the name the orphans of Mars gave to their company after they escaped the yoke that oppressed them, a name stained with blood that rests on the memory of their fallen comrades. Have you ever seen Gundam? If you haven't let me quickly put you in context, Gundam is a franchise within the classic anime, and deals mostly with war, political, humanitarian and economic conflicts, its main attraction the "mechas" or robots piloted by people, but beyond that the story of each installment is extremely deep and captivating.

Unlike Mazinger Z and all those famous robots the Gundam series has a differential, they do not fight mostly against mechanical monsters but these robots known as Gundam are part of the military force of a government or organizations, which makes wars and conflicts are between humans who use these impressive machines as weapons of war.

With this in mind I want to talk in this post about an installment called Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-blooded Orphans which has a very realistic story within the fantasy world, so it does not cease to be attractive at any time, its plot is very heartfelt from start to finish, and although it has two seasons with a total of 50 chapters in this review I will talk only about the first part because each of the seasons has much depth in its development, so it is worth dedicating two entries.

The beginning of a big family

The protagonists of this series are young orphans who have to fight to survive, most of them belong to a company called Cgs which operates small machines called "mobile workers", with them you can work in the Martian mines but also fight if necessary. Many of their pilots are known as "human debris", they are called this way because they have nowhere to go, their home is the place where they work, if they have no work their life is reduced to a greater poverty but being part of a company at least they have a roof to sleep under.

The human rubble is considered the worst thing that exists, waste ready to die at any time under the orders of anyone, many under this philosophy live their lives without giving importance to anything, only focus on fulfilling the orders even if they are inhumane. This environment largely emulates the times of slavery, where people obeyed their masters no matter what, their life and quality did not depend on them but on the masters to whom they belonged, which among humans with red blood in their veins is something unheard of.

However, in the story of this anime there are two characters who had made a promise since they were children, and after an incident they take the opportunity to take control of the company and kill those who oppressed them, thus freeing themselves from their yokes and started a new company under the name of Tekkadan. This anime is old school, so it is worth taking the time to watch both seasons, nothing is lost and its story is greatly enjoyed, in it there are wars, political conflicts, love affairs, painful deaths, struggle for ideals and more.

After conforming as Tekkadan the first thing they need is work and that is where the figure of Kudelia Aina Bernstein begins to take relevance. She is a young "revolutionary" who has an ideal of equity and freedom, being the daughter of a wealthy diplomat on Mars she decides to fight for the human rights of the Martians, so she decides to hire Tekkadan to take her to Earth where she will make some important moves to achieve her struggle.

Evidently no government likes it when someone stands up for justice, and we see this also in the series as some spheres of the Earth government have no interest in giving in under the ideals of the young woman, even her father disagrees and sells her to his enemies to maintain their position. Tekkadan who is composed of young people ignorant of what is an organization but expert in warlike matters protects her from all danger although the price they pay for it is quite high.

Orga who is the leader of Tekkadan is forced to take strong decisions to take them all to the place where they belong, taking into account that they are a group of human debris learn along the way what it means to be a family and fight with all their strength to keep it, still can not avoid the requests of many of its members, however maintain a motto if it can be called so, and is to always move forward, without stopping.

Final impressions

What I have written corresponds to the first season which consists of 25 chapters, but it is only a taste of everything that can be seen in it, the theme of orphanhood and the struggle to have a better life can be exciting when you fight in a fair way, I think it is one of the messages that the franchise wanted to give with this first installment, The characters are very well developed, each of them with their own personality have enough weight in the story, there are no filler chapters but not everything is action, there is a lot of drama included, not only from the Martian side but also from those who live on Earth.

If you know Gundam maybe you have already seen this installment but if not I recommend it with eyes closed, it is definitely better than many current series, if you do not like robot series no problem, as you may notice I have not talked much about them, although they are impressive I can not deny it, the story is the best, hardly not hook you because it has all the elements to captivate you even from the first chapter.

Values such as honor, friendship, brotherhood, justice are very highlighted, I think it is an anime that today's society could take advantage of because the message it communicates is something that today is in decline. In short I can say that I loved it, the rawness as things are presented is something that caught my attention but in turn is an element that despite being present in an anime does not fail at any time to show reality.

Tekkadan: La flor de hierro que no se marchita

Tekkadan es el nombre que los huérfanos de Marte le dieron a su compañía luego que escaparon del yugo que los oprimia, un nombre manchado con sangre que reposa sobre la memoria de sus compañeros caidos. ¿Has visto alguna vez Gundam? Si no lo haz hecho déjame ponerte en contexto rápidamente, Gundam es una franquicia dentro del anime clásico, y trata en su mayoría de conflictos belicos, políticos, humanitarios y económicos, su principal atractivos los “mechas” o robots piloteados por personas, pero mas alla de eso la historia de cada entrega es sumamente profunda y cautivante.

A diferencia de Mazinger Z y todos aquellos robots famosos la serie Gundam tiene un diferencial, no pelean en su mayoría contra monstruos mecánicos sino que estos robots conocidos como Gundam son parte de la fuerza militar de un gobierno o de organizaciones, lo cual hace que las guerras y los conflictos sean entre humanos que usan estas impresionantes maquinas como armas belicas.

Teniendo esto en cuenta quiero hablar en este post de una entrega llamada Mobile Suit Gundam Iron-blooded Orphans la cual tiene una historia muy realista dentro de todo ese mundo de fantasia, por lo que no deja de ser atrayente en ningun momento, su trama es muy sentida desde que inicia hasta que termina, y aunque tiene dos temporadas con un total de 50 capitulos en esta reseña hablare solo de la primera parte porque cada una de las temporadas presenta mucha profundidad en su desarrollo, asi que vale la pena dedicarle dos entradas.

El inicio de una gran familia

Los protagonistas de esta serie son jóvenes huérfanos que tienen que luchar para sobrevivir, la mayoría de ellos pertenece a una compañía llamada Cgs la cual opera unas pequeñas maquinas llamadas “mobile workers”, con ellas se pueden trabajar en las minas marcianas pero tambien combatir en caso de que sea necesario. Muchos de sus pilotos son conocidos como “escombros humanos”, se les llama de esta manera porque no tienen adonde ir, su hogar es el lugar donde trabajen, si no tienen trabajo su vida se reduce a una mayor pobreza pero siendo parte de una empresa por lo menos tienen un techo donde dormir.

Los escombros humanos son considerado lo peor que existe, desechos listos para morir en cualquier momento bajo las ordenes de quien sea, muchos bajo esta filosofia viven su vida sin dar importancia a nada, solo se enfocan en cumplir las ordenes asi estas sean inhumanas. Este ambiente emula en gran medida los tiempos de la esclavitud, donde las personas obedecían a sus amos sin importar que, su vida y calidad no dependía de ellos sino de los amos a quienes le perteneciesen, lo cual entre humanos con sangre roja en sus venas es algo inaudito.

Sin embargo en la historia de este anime aparecen dos personajes que habían hecho una promesa desde pequeños, y luego de un incidente aprovechan la oportunidad para tomar el control de la compañía y matar a quienes le oprimían, de esa forma se liberaron de sus yugos y comenzaron una nueva compañía bajo el nombre de Tekkadan. Este anime es de la vieja escuela, por lo tanto vale la pena tomarse el tiempo para ver ambas temporadas, no se le pierde nada y se disfruta en gran manera su historia, en ella hay guerras, conflictos políticos, amoríos, muertes dolorosas, lucha por ideales y mas.

Luego de conformarse como Tekkadan lo primero que necesitan es trabajo y alli es donde la figura de Kudelia Aina Bernstein comienza a tomar relevancia. Es una joven “revolucionaria” que tiene un ideal de equidad y libertad, siendo ella hija de un acaudalado diplomático en Marte decide luchar por los derechos humanos de los marcianos, por lo que decide contratar a Tekkadan para que la lleve a la Tierra donde hara unos movimientos importantes para lograr su lucha.

Evidentemente a ningun gobierno le gusta cuando alguien se levanta para hacer justicia, y esto lo vemos tambien en la serie pues algunas esferas del gobierno terrestre no tienen interés alguno en ceder bajo los ideales de la joven, incluso su padre esta en desacuerdo y la vende a sus enemigos para mantener su posición. Tekkadan quien esta compuesta por jóvenes ignorantes de lo que es una organización pero experta en asuntos belicos la protege de todo peligro aunque el precio que pagan por ello es bastante elevado.

Orga quien es el líder de Tekkadan se ve obligado a tomar decisiones fuertes para llevarlos a todos al lugar donde pertenecen, teniendo en cuenta que son un grupo de escombros humanos aprenden en el camino lo que significa ser una familia y luchan con todas sus fuerzas para mantenerla, aun asi no puede evitar las pedidas de muchos de sus miembros, sin embargo mantienen un lema si se le puede llamar asi, y es el seguir siempre adelante, sin detenerse.

Impresiones finales

Lo que he escrito corresponde a la primera temporada que consta de 25 capitulos, pero es solo un abrebocas a todo lo que se puede observar en ella, el tema de la orfandad y la lucha por tener una mejor vida puede ser emocionante cuando se lucha de una forma justa, pienso que es uno de los mensajes que la franquicia quiso dar con esta primera entrega, los personajes son muy bien desarrollados, cada uno de ellos con su propia personalidad tienen bastante peso en la historia, no hay capítulos de rrelleno pero tampoco todo es accion, hay mucho drama incluido, no solo de la parte marciana sino tambien de los que habitan en la tierra.

Si conoces Gundam quizás ya has visto esta entrega pero si no la recomiendo a ojos cerrados, es definitivamente mejor que muchas series actuales, si no te gustan las series de robots no hay problema, como podras notar no he hablado mucho al respecto de ellos, aunque son impresionantes no lo puedo negar, la historia es lo mejor, difícilmente no te enganches porque tiene todos los elementos para cautivarte incluso desde el primer capitulo.

Valores como el honor, la amistad, la hermandad, la justicia son muy resaltados, pienso que es un anime que la sociedad actual podría aprovechar porque el mensaje que comunica es algo que al dia de hoy se encuentra en decadencia. En definitiva puedo decir que me ha encantado, la crudeza como se presentan las cosas es algo que llamo mucho mi atención pero a su vez es un elemento que a pesar de estar presente en un anime no deja en ningun momento de mostrar la realidad.
